Airborne Korean War Era Veteran

In Feb. 1950 at the age of 17 I enlisted in the United States Army and took the oath to protect and defend the Constitution of these United States. Little did I know or understand at that time that the day would come that I would ever have to defend it against our own Government.

After I finished basic training I went to Ft. Benning, Georgia to take Airborne training. It was while in Airborne training that the Korean war broke out. After Airborne training I was sent to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to the 82nd Airborne Division signal Company where I spent three years.
After discharge I returned home and Married a wonderful girl and now on the 27th of March 2009, we will celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary.

Thinking back over the years I have never forgotten my oath and am as committed today as I ever was to the Constitution. Its to bad that the people running our Government today do not understand what our forefathers stood for and had the courage to stand up against all those secret organizations that wish to destroy our Nation and its Constitution!

Thank you.

Honor and Guts: Vietnam Combat Vet Speaks Out On the Need to Stand Up in Defense of Our Constitution

101st Airborne - the "Screaming Eagle"

About time! I had about given up hope that there were still people in this country with the Honor & Guts to stand up and be counted when it came to defending the very Document that created this great Nation we love. I cannot begin to express the pride & pleasure in finding out that there are so many of us that still believe in the sacredness of the oath we made to support the Constitution of These United States.

It is my greatest Honor to join you, my Brothers in Arms, to follow in the footsteps of our Founders in pledging my Life, my Fortune & my Sacred Honor to this Cause.

When the Call goes out, count me in. I may be getting "old & decrepit", but I'm still a "dead-shot".

It's time to say "Enough is enough!!!" to the Powers That Be who are, on a daily basis, trying to tear apart & adulterize the very Foundation of our Country, the Constitution, in their power hungry attempts to plant their boots on the necks of the American People & way of life.

As for an idea of my background, I'm the eldest of an Army family. My Step-father was an Infantry 1SGT who'd served in WWII, Korea & Viet Nam. I spent 7 years in the Army (first half of it as an Intel Analyst in Nam & the second half as a Tank Commander at Ft. Hood & in Germany) and 6 years in the Navy as a HM2 (Corpsman/MedLabTech).

My tour in Nam was mainly at Phu Bai & points north. After being stationed at the 8th RRFS/Phu Bai, I requested transfer to our DSU with the 101st ABN/AMBL at Camp Eagle. Note: I was NO
T drafted...I enlisted. I also requested orders for Nam coming out of AIT & I requested assignment to the 101st both for the same reason....I believed in what we were doing.

I just want to make sure that it's understood that I wasn't an 11Bush (ground pounder/grunt). I did my part. I especially enjoyed calling in arty strikes on the fixes we'd get from our ARDF (airborne radio direction finding ) units we had flying in our AO, but I'd like it understood that I didn't have it as rough as our guys who were in the thick of it. Those guys deserve all the respect we can give them for the job they did.

Note: I'm standing just to the right of the Company Guidon.

Needless to say, while there, I had my eyes opened as to the REAL government of these United States and it is NOT the government our Fore Fathers intended. And everything I've seen in my life since then has just verified what I'd learned. It's time to go back to our roots, to the Constitutions and all it entails.

I'm part of that generation that remembers what happened in the world the last century and it MUST NOT be allowed to happen in America today. Our decedents MUST have a better future in store for them than what today's Powers That Be have in mind for them.

God Bless America

Oath Keepers On The Air

The Oath Keepers Declaration of Orders We WILL Not Obey has caused a fire-storm of interest in this effort. (click the highlighted text above to read the full declaration with detailed explanation). The major online news site, World Net Daily, now has a special feature article on Oath Keepers.

And Stewart Rhodes, founder and spokesman of Oath Keepers, has been invited to appear as a guest on several radio shows. He was on
Devvy Kid: today March 17th 6pm pacific. And he will be on the G. Gordon Liddy Show, Wed March 18th 7:30 am pacific, 10:30 am eastern:

Go here to listen live online

We are in discussion with a few other shows on possible appearance dates.
Oath Keepers to be on G. Gordon Liddy Show

They all want to hear about what we Oath Keepers (and that means you too!) are up to. We are tremendously grateful to them for stepping up and helping us spread the Oath Keepers message.

Tune in, call in, and spread the word!

And we have another very exciting development in the works that we will probably announce tomorrow (Wed).

Together, we WILL win the battle for the hearts and minds of our troops!

Active Duty Police Officer

I am an Active Duty Peace Officer in Houston Texas, and I proudly stand with you.... It is with great joy that I see the birth of this organization.

I've been with the Houston Police Department for 15 years and my fears of the militarization of local police grow larger every day. These fears came totally into focus when the president, then candidate, spoke of creating a civilian defense force as large and well equipped as the US Military.

The only logical way to accomplish this would be federalization of local and state law enforcement.

THIS IS MY FEAR.....

We, as local and state peace officers, must resist any attempt to be federalized.... We swore an oath to the communities, and states, that we serve... Not the federal government...

I call on all peace officers to reaffirm their commitment to the concept of being a PEACE OFFICER..... We are not a tool of the powerful against the weak.... we are not the judge, jury, and executioner....
I strongly encourage all peace officers to listen carefully to orders from superiors and test them against the Constitution, test them against your conscience, ask yourself if you would take that action in front of your parents, or a religious leader, or your children.

Constantly ask yourself..... What is the hurry in taking this action RIGHT NOW?... Unless your safety is at stake, take a breath, and take your time....
We are given the badge and given our authority based on the trust of those we serve.....

And we should serve everyone equally with a steady gaze on the Bill of Rights...

Keep the Peace

Testimonial of Desert Storm Airborne Combat Veteran

82nd. The "All Americans." Airborne All the Way!

It has been a number of years since I have been in uniform but I will never forget the oath that i took to defend this nation against ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC! and to UPHOLD THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION with all it's benefits for the PEOPLE.

It is this nation that we serve under GOD and we must defend her from those who would try to abandon the dream of our founding fathers. Enough has been lost already it is now time to defend these borders and this land.
It is time to stop sacrificing our men and women for those who really do not give a damn about this nation or it's people.

I would like to say to those who wear this uniform, following orders that go against what our founding fathers believed in and were willing to die for is not American or patriotic.

Stand up against those who would use you to further their agenda and remember why you really are called AMERICAN SOLDIERS!

AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!

Testimonial of Retired Infantry Platoon Sergeant

Infantry: "Follow Me!"

I am a retired U.S. Army Infantry NCO (SFC/E7) platoon sergeant.
I last served with D Co, 1/8 Inf, 4th ID... I also was in CSC, 1/46 Inf, 1st AD.

I have been stating for many months that I took an oath when I first enlisted back in 1975 and that no one told me I was no longer bound by that oath when I retired. That oath was to protect and DEFEND the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC, so help me God. I intend to do just that, as this is not the country I intended to bequeath to my sons and grandchildren. It is extremely refreshing to know their is an organization which supports my beliefs - please count me in as a member.

You have my permission to use both my name and statement, as simple as it is in comparison to some of the others. It is an honor and privilege to serve with you and stand beside all the others who remember their oath and allegiance to the Constitution of the great nation.

Sincerely,

Jonathan L. Hughes

Response to "NUTS!": This Vietnam Vet Agrees

Lew Waters, An Khe Viet Nam, about September 1970.

This Viet Nam Vet agrees, we have become what we were sent to fight back then. We have become what many others before and after us stood up against during "Cold War" years.

I too never recanted my oath of enlistment, nor will I ever.

We must take a stand now, if our children and grandchildren are to enjoy the freedoms and liberties we did as children.

I served with C Troop 7/17th Air Cav & 412th TC Det. in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam from mid 1969 to January 1, 1971, then on to Germany with Air Cav Troop 2nd ACR in Nuremberg, finishing off at Fort Bragg, NC with HHB XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery, Aviation Section. I ETS'd in March 1977, partly due to Jimmy Carter's amnesty granted to Viet Nam draft dodgers.

My entire time was a 67V20, OH-6A/OH-58A Crew Chief/Mechanic and sometimes Aero Scout.

The photo is of me, taken in An Khe Viet Nam about September 1970.

Thanks to all of you for taking such a stand.

Testimonial From a Veteran of the Marine Corps and Air Force

Semper Fi
I took the oath three times, once upon initial enlistment in the Marine Corps, again upon reenlistment and a third when I joined the Air Force.

The emotions ran high during the oath as I reflected on what I was saying, I was dedicating my self to the defense of the constitution which is what I saw as the very thing that allowed us the liberty we enjoy over other nations. I remember the hair standing at "attention" on the back of my neck! This emotion comes back to me every time I think of it, even today.

I was distressed recently to hear from a young soldier upon returning home from basic training in the Army on his way to Iraq. He told me of the oath he took. He swore to defend America from all enemies foreign and domestic. I have not been able to confirm that the oath has been changed or if he just didn't understand the oath he took. Either way, this is a terrible thing.

He went on to tell me of the time spent in training going over the "rules of engagement" with the Iraqi people. He said they spent even more time going over the rules of engagement with the American people. Where are we going!!!

Young men and women today do not appear to be the thinkers that their parents and grandparents were, nor do they have the spine to stand up to their leaders and say "that would violate my oath of service."

I have very little use for anyone (military, police or politician) who would take an oath and turn around and violate the oath due to ignorance.

This is a great site, and one that is badly needed. Education is the key to liberty, and if that fails a good rifle!
