Former U.S. Army Infantryman Never Forgot The Oath

ranger_airborne

Stewart and all my fellow Oath Keepers,
My name is David Helms and I am a former U.S. Army Infantryman. As with all of the rest of you, I swore an oath to defend the constitution and have never forgotten that oath nor failed to do my best in it's defense. I will continue to do so as long as I draw breath.
I will be reading an Oath Keeper letter at the Fayetteville, Arkansas Tea Party on Independence Day.
Thank you Stewart for all the hard work you do, I know it can be overwhelming. Thank you also to all of you who make Oath Keepers what it is and, more importantly, what I know it will become...a bulwark against tyranny.
David Helms

First Oath Never Expired

I Enlisted in the USMC on my birthday in 1962 (RVN 65-66), I have also served in the US Army and am a retired peace officer. I have taken the oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States many times, but as the first one doesn't expire the rest were just to satisfy form. I will continue to protect and defend the Constitution, whatever it takes, until I stop breathing, and may God bless our cause. Semper Fi

Army Veteran Understands Resolve

Hey guys,

In 1967 I raised my hand and took the oath to protect and defend as I joined the US Army. I took that oath three more times.

From what I see, many of those to day just mumble those words without regards to their meaning or have no idea as to how our country was formed and what the Founding Fathers and all the men and women of their time gave up and were risking.

Please do not take this the wrong way because I have to know just how serious you are. Do you know what that oath means? As I said, no insult intended with the question.

At night I sit here and at time feel tears of frustration fall on my cheeks as I see what is happening to my country. It is not the country that my father taught me to love, politically. It is only what my father taught me and my own belief system that keeps me from pulling a weapon and going John Wayne, Audy Murphy or Davy Crockett.

A friend sent the youtube video this morning and I find I cannot get it out of my head several hours later. I like to think that Glenn Beck and others like him are looking out for those of us who still think the United States of America is a divine inspiration of our Founding Fathers and worth putting their lives on the line for those principles it was founded on.

Respectfully

Airman/Soldier Says Add Me to the List of Defenders

Add my name to those who will keep their oath to defend the Constitution and the Republic!

While I am 74 years old 21 years of that were spent in the Army and Air Force and I can still fire any weapon with accuracy!

My greatest fear is that the American people will not wake up to the galloping Socialism/Communism that is now entrenched in the government until it is too late. If they do not turn things around in the next 2 elections we will be faced with an armed revolution or to living under the type government most of us have fought against all our lives.

It is good to see organizations like Oath Keepers stepping up! God Bless!
