Oath Keepers: Orders We Will Not Obey

NOTE: Please visit our new site at

www.oathkeepers.org

"The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army" - Gen. George Washington, to his troops before the battle of Long Island

Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army - and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard units of these sovereign states.

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and de
fend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and that oath will be
kept. We won’t “just follow orders."

Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic.

Declaration of Orders We Will NOT Obey

Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and d
efend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:

1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.

The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of o
pen conflict in the American Revolution. That vile attempt was an act of war, and the American people fought back in justified, righteous self-defense of their natural rights. Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.

Nor will we assist, or support any such attempt to disarm the people by other government entities, either state or federal.

In addition, we affirm that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military power of the people so that they will, in the last resort, have effective final recourse to arms and to the God of Hosts in the face of tyranny. Accordingly, we oppose any and all further infringements on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. In particular we oppose a renewal of the misnamed “assault-weapons” ban or the enactment of H.R. 45 (which would register and track gun owners like convicted pedophiles).

2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects - suc
h as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the use of “writs of assistance,” which were essentially warrantless searches because there was no requirement of a showing of probable cause to a judge, and the first fiery embers of American resistance were born in opposition to those infamous writs. The Founders considered all warrantless searches to be unreasonable and egregious. It was to prevent a repeat of such violations of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects that the Fourth Amendment was written.

We expect that sweeping warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.

3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizen
s as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the denial of the right to jury trial, the use of admiralty courts (military tribunals) instead, and the application of the laws of war to the colonists. After that experience, and being well aware of the infamous Star Chamber in English history, the Founders ensured that the international laws of war would apply only to foreign enemies, not to the American people. Thus, the Article III Treason Clause establishes the only constitutional form of trial for an American, not serving in the military, who is accused of making war on his own nation. Such a trial for treason must be before a civilian jury, not a tribunal.

The international laws of war do not trump our Bill of Rights. We reject as illegitimate any such claimed power, as did the Supreme Court in Ex Parte Milligan (1865). Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic “militia” groups the government brands “domestic terrorists,” is an act of war and an act of treason.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state’s legislature and governor.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the attempt “to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power” by disbanding the Massachusetts legislature and appointing General Gage as “military governor.” The attempt to disarm the people of Massachusetts during that martial law sparked our Revolution. Accordingly, the power to impose martial law – the absolute rule over the people by a military officer with his will alone being law – is nowhere enumerated in our Constitution.

Further, it is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.

The imposition of martial law by the national government over a state and its people, treating them as an occupied enemy nation, is an act of war. Such an attempted suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights voids the compact with the states and with the people.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.

In response to the obscene growth of federal power and to the absurdly totalitarian claimed powers of the Executive, upwards of 20 states are considering, have considered, or have passed courageous resolutions affirming states rights and sovereignty.

Those resolutions follow in the honored and revered footsteps of Jefferson and Madison in their Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, and likewise seek to enforce the Constitution by affirming the very same principles of our Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights that we Oath Keepers recognize and affirm.

Chief among those principles is that ours is a dual sovereignty system, with the people of each state retaining all powers not granted to the national government they created, and thus the people of each state reserved to themselves the right to judge when the national government they created has voided the compact between the states by asserting powers never granted.

Upon the declaration by a state that such a breach has occurred, we will not obey orders to force that state to submit to the national government.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus
turning them into giant concentration camps.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the blockade of Boston, and the occupying of that city by the British military, under martial law. Once hostilities began, the people of Boston were tricked into turning in their arms in exchange for safe passage, but were then forbidden to leave. That confinement of the residents of an entire city was an act of war.

Such tactics were repeated by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turning entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be
an act of war and thus an act of treason.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

Mass, forced internment into concentration camps was a hallmark of every fascist and communist dictatorship in the 20th Century. Such internment was unfortunately even used against American citizens of Japanese descent during World War II. Whenever a government interns its own people, it treats them like an occupied enemy population. Oppressive governments often use the internment of women and children to break the will of the men fighting for their liberty – as was done to the Boers, to the Jewish resisters in the Warsaw Ghetto, and to the Chechens, for example.

Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used. We will not commit treason, nor will we facilitate or support it."NOT on Our Watch!"

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control” during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.

During the American Revolution, the British government enlisted the aid of Hessian mercenaries in an attempt to subjugate the rebellious American people. Throughout history, repressive regimes have enlisted the aid of foreign troops and mercenaries who have no bonds with the people.

Accordingly, as the militia of the several states are the only military force contemplated by the Constitution, in Article I, Section 8, for domestic keeping of the peace, and as the use of even our own standing army for such purposes is without such constitutional support, the use of foreign troops and mercenaries against the people is wildly unconstitutional, egregious, and an act of war.

We will oppose such troops as enemies of the people and we will treat all who request, invite, and aid those foreign troops as the traitors they are.

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the seizure and forfeiture of American ships, goods, and supplies, along with the seizure of American timber for the Royal Navy, all in violation of the people’s natural right to their property and to the fruits of their labor. The final spark of the Revolution was the attempt by the government to seize powder and cannon stores at Concord.

Deprivation of food has long been a weapon of war and oppression, with millions intentionally starved to death by fascist and communist governments in the 20th Century alone.

Accordingly, we will not obey or facilitate orders to confiscate food and other essential supplies from the people, and we will consider all those who issue or carry out such orders to be the enemies of the people.

10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on
the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

There would have been no American Revolution without fiery speakers and writers such as James Otis, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, and Sam Adams “setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Patrick Henry: "Give me Liberty, or Give me DEATH!"

Tyrants know that the pen of a man such as Thomas Paine can cause them more damage than entire armies, and thus they always seek to suppress the natural rights of speech, association, and assembly. Without freedom of speech, the people will have no recourse but to arms. Without freedom of speech and conscience, there is no freedom.

Therefore, we will not obey or support any orders to suppress or violate the right of the people to speak, associate, worship, assemble, communicate, or petition government for the redress of grievances.

— And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually affirm our oath and pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor. Oath Keepers

The above list is not exhaustive but we do consider them to be clear tripwires – they form our “line in the sand,” and if we receive such orders, we will not obey them. Further, we will know that the time for another American Revolution is nigh. If such a revolution comes, at that time, not only will we NOT fire upon our fellow Americans who righteously resist such egregious violations of their God given rights, we will join them in fighting against those who dare attempt to enslave them.

More About Oath Keepers

Oath Keepers is a non partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, and peace officers who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and not to any political party. In the long-standing tradition of the U.S. military, we are apolitical. We don’t care if unlawful orders come from a Democrat or a Republican, or if the violation is bi-partisan. We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law. We won’t “just follow orders." Our motto: “Not on Our Watch!” or to put it even more succinctly, in the words of , "NUTS!"

There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues. But many others do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution and to the people, and understand what that means.

The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers.

We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our own troops.
Help us win it.

Note to "Anonymous Physicist" and his message-delivering fanboy "Spooked": How easy it is to snipe from the shadows and attack a man who presents himself in the light--to insinuate things about his character based on a common last name (per WhitePages. com "the # 301 ranked last name in the United States"), or where he went to school (11,446 enrollments in 2008 alone per Yale's "fact sheet").

Hey "physicist"--do the math--if this is how you formulate a hypothesis, validate it and derive a theory you deem presentable for peer review, perhaps you have a brighter future in shamanism, which is what you're engaging in here, idiot.

Is your intent to sow the seeds of doubt and derail an effort another has obviously put much labor into--and you have put none?

And don't you feel the least bit silly, grasping at such a stupid straw? In front of people?

Oh, but I forget--we don't know who you are, so no harm. Say, you wouldn't be disinformation trolls or provocateurs trying to derail this, would you?

Without you coming into the light so we can examine what you say against who you are, we may never know your motives.

I'll put my faith in my friend Stewart, who I know to be a patriot.

Hey, I went to Kent State--does that make me a thrall of the guardsmen who opened fire, or a pinko agitator? It all gets so confusing...

So it has come to this.

Whatever their actions appear to be whether in Missouri or anywhere else, know that the elite are afraid of you more then we are afraid of them.

They too have been training, preparing for this moment....hoping their army does not desert them in the most critical times.

But they have gone too far this time......They have openly declared Ron Paul and anything affiliated with that, to be "terrorists" an insane and scurrilous charge by any seasoned observer.

Make no mistake, the elite are scared as hell!

This is a real revolution now, a formidable threat or else they would not openly call the millions of us "domestic terrorists" when we have engaged in no forms of terrorism.

Frankly though, and I salute to this....

I could care less what the elite say anymore and I will not lay down my arms any longer.

We all saw, and Americans were awoken to the horrors across Palestine and outside of it to a degree we never imagined.

While the bloodshed escalated, Obama, in true frightened blackmail-puppet fashion turned a blind eye to the absolute decadence of American men being shot at in Israel and also Pakistan for reasons of defying the elite.

A large movement has swept through the military, fed up with what is going on with the Obama handlers and ready to take a stand.

And so be it without further ado.....The absolute vicious HELL we have witnessed demands nothing less then total action!

I care not who stands on the throne of England's marshes or declares ownership over our currency ever again.

They are the purest of evil after witnessing the Palestine / southern border massacre and I pledge to STOP THEM once and for all!!!!!

To all law enforcement who will read this message:

Do you, men and women of the armed services understand what they have done to this country?

Do you understand for once in your lives, why they would openly declare the people awakening everyone to these issues to be "terrorists"?

Do you need a gentle reminder of WACO again, and how these people will never look out for anyone except themselves?

They'll use you as a body bag, and then discard you like everyone else. Stop!!!

Think for yourselves, look at the atrocious murder in Palestine and the middle east. This is not who you are, this is not us!!!

This is NOT our country, members of the law enforcement community -- such unspeakable atrocities are NOT what we are about.

If I with 100,000 volts raised in my hand am forced to take you down, and many others like you, to risk my very life in order to show the world the truth.....will you PLEASE take a look in the god forsaken broken mirror for the first time ever -----?

Look at who YOU are, and realize you don't have to do this. You don't have to destroy America, which if we are at constant war, I guarantee the ones who escape will bring America crashing into flames. The elite want nothing less, if we go down....

They all go down. And your families, for gods sake they don't care about that either. Get out of your radio T.V. news world of lies, get back into reality!!!!!

If OUR country dies but we succeed in stopping this genocide, then maybe at last, the Devil will be cast out of the middle east.

To Anonymous dated March 15, posted 2:13 a.m.:
Article III of the Constitution does NOT "give the supreme court the power to determine whether [or not] laws are outside the constitution." The Supreme Court appointed that power to itself in Marbury v. Madison (1803). It is insanity to have the federal government decide on its own whether or not it is acting within the constraints imposed upon it by the several States.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous referencing the Supreme Court: I will have to assume you are intentionally trying to throw confusion into the equation. The Supreme Court has 2 major problems. First, they are politicians, appointed rather than elected, and are just another arm with strings attached, pulled from somewhere out of sight. The second is the fact that the Supreme Court has ruled AGAINST the Constitution many more times than they have ruled in favor of it. The Constitution was written to protect the people from government tyranny, and it has been slowly eroded over the last 80 to 100 years, to the point where it is ready to be toppled completely. Nearly every Federal Law, and many local and state laws, are not legal under the Constitution if you take an objective look at them. Do the appointed politicians reverse them, as they are charged to do then? No. Why you ask? That would cause problems with the system, and ‘the system’ requires control to survive. In order to ensure compliance, life gets difficult of you stray too far from what ‘the system’ will tolerate, even if you have never broken the law in your life. Survival of the system, also known as government, is more important than survival or the rights and freedoms of the people. The system considers itself superior to, and more important that, the very people of this great land. You are also ignoring several other articles, including the right s of States, as well as individuals, with your line of thought.

Anonymous referencing Katrina: I was slotted to go, but did not end up responding to Katrina due to the typical bureaucracy issues. From what I do know of the weapon confiscations, they were conducted by city police under order of the mayor, who for reasons I cannot comprehend, managed to stay in office. The only people to blame for that are local to New Orleans. The mayor for ordering it. The local police for doing it when there was much more important work to be done (at a minimum). The locals for tolerating it and re-electing the same politicians that screwed that whole mess up in the first place. This also goes back to what I said before: don’t vote for a candidate that promises change, vote for people that are not politicians and that will actually accomplish change. It is time to end the era of professional politicians if you want something different. The definition of insanity: doing the exact same thing over and over, and expecting a different result every time.

Mr. Rhoads is correct, warfare is not the intended topic here, and I apologize for my part in the sidelining of the discussion. Some things just have to be said, but they can be said elsewhere. Planning and organization is key to any successful undertaking. Knowing what is right, but not having a plan for what to do when the time comes, is not going to be successful. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

I swore the Oath in August 2000. When I joined the USMC. I served 4 honorable years, as an Assualt Amphibian Crew chief. I participated in the 2nd gulf war.

I currently follow current events and severely dissatisfied with our government. Being a student of history, and have shaken off the conditioning one gets in both high school and at universty these days, I have decided that the constitution has been trampeled and darn near torn in two since the end of WWI.

I am of a mind to offer my services in any form. I had been planning to start a blog of my own to combat the growing tyranny of the the Federal Government. By tackling issues that face us as Americans.

I offer this post so that all may know that I stand where you do. I wholeheartedly accept the 10 Orders that should not be obeyed. And I will do everything in my power to help those who need it.

Anon: "Second, I don't understand this quote from the founder:

""understanding when an order is unlawful because in violation of the Constitution, or unlawful because in violation of a higher law still, is hard enough...""

Higher law? As in some religious context?"

Anon, you may find some reading on the Nueremberg Principles illuminating:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuremberg_Principles

If I recall correctly, the Allies were scrambling to find a way to prosecute Nazis who claimed they were "just following orders" and the Nueremberg Principles are what they came up with - frankly, I think what they were really doing is standing on natural law, and calling it "international law."

And aside from that, we do consider the philosophical principles enunciated in the Declaration to also reflect a higher law still than even international law.

Any law, national or international, that allows for mass extermination of non-combatants, for example, would still be wrong, as I am sure you would agree. Or are you seriously of th opinion that so long as it is "legal" it is just, and must be obeyed?

There is a limit to formal law. There must be. What Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao did to their own people was clearly "legal" under the legal systems those monsters manipulated. But that did not make it right, or anything that should be respected.

There are limits here as well. Of course. The Supreme Court is not made up of Gods.

Dear Mr Rhodes,

I applaud and welcome the support that your site offers. I have been actively fighting this fight for some 10 years now and have become more and more vocal in the past two.

Reading your blog site has done more to
energize me than all of the positive feed back that I receive from my network of like minded people throughout the country. I have passed on yourinfo to all.

One large contingent of the group that makes up your Oath Keepers are the Veterans. Do you have plans for gatherings where we can again reaffirm our oath? I think that would send a clear message to Washington if gatherings were held in every State in the Union.

We as individuals can't achieve change in Washington but the States can. We can regain the rights of the States as allowed in the Articles of the 10th Amendment. Secession is the road to redemption and once we have again
secured our freedom as sovereign States then we can once more form a Confederacy or a Union and this time, just maybe, we can protect it.

I will close by quoting Henry David Thoreau, "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." I welcome your help in striking at the root.

Of course the expressions here may lean towards the 2nd amend., it's the one most threatened and violated by the Fed Gov't. Without the 2nd amendment thoroughly upheld, this republic's people are utterly at the mercy of it's govt. It's supposed to be the other way around.

Secure the second amendment, then the others are safe. Bingo!

Anonymous at 2:13 said "For instance, if the congress renewed the assault weapons ban, the president signed it, and it was challenged in a case before the supreme court, and it was upheld that the government has the right to restrict certain weapons. All that is constitutional, as you know, the constitution gives the supreme court the power to determine whether laws are outside the constitution under article III."

I think the proper response is yes. And no. You may want to read Thomas Jefferson on the matter in his Kentucky Resolution, and Madison in the Virginia Resolution. The point which they both make is that while the ordinary functioning of the Federal government is such that the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches can use their powers for making and setting law, it is possible, even within that framework, for the Federal government to overreach its authority. Here is a hopefully humorous hypothetical as an example. Suppose that lobbyists for the doughnut makers persuaded through whatever means to convince Congress to pass, the President to sign, and the Supreme Court to uphold, a law requiring every citizen to pray before a doughnut at least twice a day. Since the law was passed, signed and then affirmed by the Court, then according to you, it would be legal and Constitutional. Jefferson and Madison (and Mason and most of the other founding fathers) would disagree. Regardless of the fact that the doughnut law had passed through all the proper forms of legitimate law, it is such an obvious violation of the First Amendment that any normal, rational person would see it as an infringement -- regardless of the Court's ruling. According to the Founders, the Constitution is a contract entered into by the various States, acting as representatives of their citizens. The various States (and their citizens) are the source of the Federal government's powers, and, in extremis, the final judge of its fitness to exist.

I grant you that many legal professionals today would argue the point, but Jefferson and Madison are, I believe, correct. It is unreasonable to suppose that any legal entity (ie, the Federal government) created by contract between several parties (ie, the States) would have superior authority at interpreting the terms of the contract which created it. It would be the same as if you and your friend formed a business, and then the manager whom you had hired to run it claimed that HE had authority to tell YOU what to do, instead of the opposite.

It is certainly possible that you do not believe me -- but do you really think that the founders of this nation created the United States without understanding the principles behind it?

When I was a child I was taught the Pledge of Allegiance, taught God, Country, Family first. I grew up and joined the military and took the oath to protect and defend constitution of the United States. Today older wiser 40 years later I still stand ready to live free or die and reaffirm to protect and defend the constitution of the United States from enemies both foreign and domestic.Remember that it opens with these words "We the people" common sense will have to dictate in every individual situation weather to fire on someone or not, some may be traitors, some may be patriot, but sure as I'm sitting here writing this the time is coming when those decisions will have to be made. Our government is failing us, it may even be our own fault but it is failing us. The greedy, self important always seem to find a way to shove the little man around. We no longer own our own property, the IRS is over stepping its authority more and more every day. Americans are losing their rights, veterans are losing what was promised in return for their service. We are being over run by people from outside our country because labor unions was dues paying members, some churches what people sitting in their pews, and politicians want votes not because they want to come here and work and be free. They come now for a free meal ticket. Some hold political office for 30 plus years and serve themselves instead of serving those who voted them in. They lie, cheat and steal and don't even realize they are doing wrong or so they say. They are emboldened when they are not punished and sin even more. God has been removed from our country and our lives and there is no separation between church and state that is a myth spread by those who want God gone from America so she may fail. Every day police officers fail their duty, preachers fail their flocks and parents fail their children make no mistake revolution is coming and so is judgment day! All we have to do is continue to do what is right by God, by our country and by our families and evil will fail in the end. Mistakes are made by all men, you know in your heart what is right and what is wrong make the right decisions the best you can for all men fall short of the Glory of God, but some are forgiven some will not that is Gods work not ours. God Bless America its veterans and active duty personnel the working man and woman and pray to God and when the revolution comes you will do the right thing!

I love this site!! Thank You all for stepping up. I see alot of people ready for action. And even more screaming for a revolution. I am reminded of Stalins most famous quote
"It was the peoples revolution that brought Communism/Socialism upon them" (Or something to that effect) Isn't it a "Restoration" of the constitution that we seek? I have no doubts what-so-ever that plenty will step up to defend the constitution if we are pushed. I think its very important though to make the Government take the first shot to win the hearts and minds of not just the military but the "people". If peaceful protesters are severely beating or killed in mass,I believe millions will pour into the streets. I think The Government hopes there's riots/looting to justify imposing martial law (Or trying to). I honestly believe that more will be accomplished through peaceful means. The elite are more afraid of the flow of commerce coming to a halt then anything else. If millions and millions are sitting hand in hand at every airport, bus station, ship-yard,railway and on every street, freeway, alley etc.. it would be the elites worst nightmare. It would be a game changer. There is NO way in hell that our Men and Women in the Military will start rolling over the people with tanks for taking over the transportation grid. It is Commerce/Money that fuels/moves the corrupt elite. When the shit hits the fan if I see anyone looting here in Salt Lake City I will consider them an agent of the Government trying to bring on martial law against the people and I will answer that threat. The "Restoration" should be peaceful, If that fails... I hope you have a spot thats at a minimum 30 to 1 kill ratio

You may remain on the sidelines Sir that is your privilege. You may not choose to stand for what you believe in, that is your right. Only 1/3 of the colonists believed in freedom and stood tow to tow with the British. You Sir may remain on the sidelines and be content that others do your fighting for you just as 2/3rds of the colonists did back in 1776. I choose to fight and I choose to live free. I choose to be an American and I choose not to be swayed by a big brother media that has an agenda that is not in the best interest of my country. It is also my right to not let stand in my way.

I choose to strike at the root of the problem and I will leave the pulling of leaves from the boughs to the likes you and your kind for doing so matters little in the scope of the big picture. For you see Sir, I am a veteran and I swore an oath. At the same time as I swore that oath, I also wrote a blank check that was payable on demand for all, up to and including my life. I may not have fully understood the magnitude of that oath or that check at the time due to the innocence of age but I truly do now. Just as it matters not what any veteran did during their tour of duty, the obligation was the same and the potential of having that check cashed was equal for all. Upon discharge and separation the oath was not negated. There is no time limit for one’s commitment to our country. However, I do not expect that you will be able to comprehend this most simple of beliefs and obligations. I do, and that is what counts. We were brothers then and we are still brother to this day.

Not some hypothetical bullcrap from a paid sell out traitor working for a rag magazine. Lets see your statements stand up to that baboy. Lets see you refute that video. You Wrote about the Oath Keepers:

“Well Sir: I took the Oath fully 2 years before you and by the time you took it I knew, first hand, full and well, that the people protecting the Constitution were the ones getting their heads bashed in by the fascist police bully boys, back here, not us assholes in SE Asia without the guts to just say no to murder for profit. Where were all of you assholes when, Bush established, "protest Zones miles away from anything and usually on an airport where no one could hear the people assembled to air their grievances. The militarization of what were a civil crimes? Torture? Habeas Corpus the very basis of the Constitution? How about when the cops started taking peoples right to travel away for not submitting to drug and alcohol testing, Drug testing in order to work, how about the Israeli banking company, Diebold, counting our votes? the list goes on and on. The Constitution has been shredded with your help ever since the criminal Nixon was elected. Now you want to reinstate it and give it teeth again? No, my friend and brother. What you are doing , sponsered by the Zionists, and enabled through Faux News is a ploy to give the impression that Obama is dangerous to the Constitution. This is fostered by the Israeli banksters, and the criminals profiteering from the ridiculous health care system that provides us with the 57th from the best health care in the world, yet costs 3 times what the 2nd most expensive does, due to plain old criminals running it. The people sponsoring this movement would like nothing better than to destroy the Constitution and are using you idiots to do it. Obama is the lawfully elected President of the USA and has shown great restraint in using the Constitutional bypasses installed by the criminal Bush regime even when dealing with the Bush economic emergency. Get your head out of Faux News and the Bible Study Koolaide and your mind will clear up shortly. Then, maybe you can, for once in your life, be an asset to your country.”

I will reply:

Yes Sir, I saw plenty of your kind on the streets of Berkley, you were probably on the other side of my Bayonet, wonder how we missed each other?

Until you can get over Bush, you will be of no use to your country. You are stuck in the Liberal Cesspool of party hatred and can’t see past the turd that you proudly display on the end of your nose. And I would say the same my Friend if you were bashing Obama. Can’t you see that is the intent of the Washington elite; keep us going after each other instead of standing together. They know if we are divided we will be unable to take our country back.

Obama is just the same as Bush, the ringmaster of a circus that is only there to entertain and pacify the crowds. Obama doesn’t call the shots, no President since Kennedy has actually had the balls to try to be a President and he got shot for bucking the shadow government that pulls the strings.

Our only hope is secession, legal under the Constitution, to break the back of this corrupt Government that holds America hostage. The Federal Government has no power that is not given to it by free and sovereign states consisting of free people. But for the past 100 years since Wilson was President they, the Federal Government, have ignored the people and worked to only take more and more power for the Big Government monopoly.

But you Sir, you just sit there on the sidelines, eat your popcorn and swill your beer and talk BIG on an R & R somewhere. Others will do what is needed, we always have. It only took 1/3 of the Colonists, with the aid of the French Fleet, to bring the mighty British to Army to the field of surrender so I think we can do it again but without the French.

Do we need you with us, NO! Would we like to join? Yes, we would like all Oath Takers to reaffirm their Oaths and let today’s military know that we are there, with them and we won’t allow the American people to be rounded up and disposed of, even by what was once our own government.

Now I am busy so go play and bother someone else.

Stewart says: ""Anon, you may find some reading on the Nueremberg Principles illuminating:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuremberg_Principles

Stewart Rhodes""

So, thanks for the link to the reading material. I suggest the very oath we speak of, to support the Constitution, is being disregarded when legal means of redress are seemingly in post after post, being scoffed at and your assertion that the Supreme court justices are not "Gods" suggests something not in my contention. These are laws of man, and in my experience as an American, I support the Constitution. The SC is one of the checks and balances. Our system is not perfect, as are none of the endeavors of man, however, it is the best we have. I have witnessed my country take a step backwards, only to to take two forward. We have addressed many issues, including slavery, women's suffrage, discrimination and denial of civil rights, in my lifetime. We eventually get it right.

Rather than this site and the posts here assuring me of folks here support the Constitution, it seems more like they are willing to revolt. There is a lot left unsaid. Revolution that fails is treason.

Legal recourse under the founders document is the only way to preserve the nation. In the course of events, mistakes will be made. There is no higher law in the US than the Constitution. There is nothing in the oath about supporting natural law, or implied law or higher law. We support international law through treaty, which is a constitutional feature. To say you take an oath to the constitution, while implying you have an allegiance to a law higher than the constitution is some sort of cognitive fairy land. The Constitution of the United States is the highest law in the land. An oath to uphold it requires one comply with it. There are legal means to address any issue. If you feel you are too impatient for that...

First, I commend your oath to uphold the Constitution. But I have a problem with your “slant.” You appear to emphasize “material” aspects of the Constitution, gun and property ownership and American citizenship, above all else. Your commitment to disobey orders dwells on protection of these material things, to the exclusion of (what I consider to be) the Constitution’s moral “heart.” As such, your claims of Godliness ring hollow to me.

I see the Constitution, above all, as a declaration of divine spirit and human liberty, against human tyranny and ungodly greed. It is primarily about universal ideals of freedom, equality and justice, and only secondarily about guns and property. The enemy of the people--all people--is not "the state," but tyranny, and the essence of tyranny is obscene inequality.

So her's a question to you: When the ponzi scheme bankers use up all of the money given to them out of our pockets by Bush and Obama, would you use your guns to return property to the people, or to protect the property of the filthy rich against the used-up jobless, homeless, penniless and the hungry?

Also, the emphasis that you place on "American citizens," with nary a reference to “human” or “universal” principles, raises the question in my mind; Would Oath Keepers use their guns to hunt down the “aliens” that George Bush let through porous borders for the past 8 years, just like Hitler did with Jews and Gypsies? (If anyone is offended by the reference to Hitler, you are probably unaware that George Bush’es grandfather Prescott Bush was a Nazi financier.)

I'd just like to know if your "pro-Constitution," "pro-gun," "pro-property" and "pro-American" positions are essentially selfish/tribal, or selfless/universal. Please clarify, so I can decide whether or not to recommend this site to war resisters and other good souls I know.

C. C. Baxter says: "Rather than this site and the posts here assuring me of folks here support the Constitution, it seems more like they are willing to revolt. There is a lot left unsaid. Revolution that fails is treason."

I would respectfully suggest that you have gotten the entire point of this site backward; you do not seem to understand the difference between defense of country and revolt against one's country. I have not seen any posts here -- especially none by Mr. Rhodes -- which in any way suggest that people should either actively or passively resist the lawful actions of the United States government or its agents.

The truth is, there is already a sort of slow motion revolt going on in this nation, a revolt which is slowly and inexorably nullifying every principle which this country was based on. You know who the revolutionaries are. They are the politicians who ignore habias corpus. They are the judges who state for the record that the US Constitution shall not be used as a defense inside their courts. They are the officers who obey orders in defiance of the laws and treaties of the United States. On the other hand, the people posting here are the patriots who have vowed to resist this revolution.

Simply put, any person -- yes, even government employees of all types, whether civil or military, plain clothed or uniformed -- who violate the highest laws of this land, do so under the color of law but not under the actual authority of law. They are criminals pretending to be government agents, not government agents in fact.

If you think that simply receiving a paycheck from the US Treasury makes a person a legitimate governmental representative you are saddly mistaken. Their actions must conform with the Constitution or no matter how they are titled or addressed, they are criminals.

To claim that a patriot resisting criminals who actively seek to circumvent the laws of the United States, is himself espousing revolt, is foolish.

There would be no reason for this outfit, for the corrupt Federal Reserve to start sounding like a man in an insane asylum and labeling all political dissent as "terrorism" unless the powers that be recognize they can NOT win.

Yes, the so called Israel industrial MIC Lobby has been exposed to the light of day.

WANTED: PHOTOS OF VETERANS FOR TRIBUTE VIDEO:

Oath Keepers had had many requests for a longer tribute video to honor those who came before, so we are working on that now, and need photos of veterans for the video.

So, if you have photos of family, friends, or yourselves who served, from their days in service, please send them in - especially vets of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

The tribute video will be set to the song "Minstrel Boy" (see the video box on the right hand side to hear the song) and the theme will be how so many, in the flower of their youth, willingly fought for this country. Many did not come home, many came home disabled, and all were willing to give up their lives if need be.

And the whole point of the video will be to remind those currently serving of the great sacrifices of those who came before, who fought in defense of freedom, and to strengthen their resolve to do likewise, and safeguard the liberty of the people. The men who fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam fought against fascism and communism, and we cannot let what they fought against come to America - not on our watch!

So, send in the photos from when your vets, or you, first went in, and during service. Either formal dress photos, or informal photos of them with their buddies and/or with family.

The vet does not have to be a combat vet. We just want to honor all those who were willing.

If you want, you can include their name, branch, unit, and the date of the photo, their years of service, or, if they have passed on, their life dates. Up to you.

Just email the photos to oathkeepersok@gmail.com

Thank you!

So, anon, is the constitution merely whatever the judges say it is? Yes, the courts obviously have a roll, and a big part of that is to act as a check on the other two branches. But when those judges who are also sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution willfully substitute their own policy preferences and call it "constitutional interpretation" what is your answer? What do you do when the judges, rather than serving as a check on willful politicians, become their enablers?

My point is that any legal system is vulnerable to manipulation, corruption, and distortion, just as the Nazis did with the German system. You should look into that unhappy history to see some ominous parallels to what is happening to ours.

For example, consider the Nazi creation of a second legal track for "enemies of the state" who were tried under the Nazi created "peoples courts." Rather than all those accused of crimes getting the same process, there were "normal" courts for ordinary criminals, and then there were these special Nazi run courts for those the Nazis considered political criminals. Those were sham trials, before hand-picked Nazi judges. And all of that was "legal" but obviously a perversion of the German legal system.

The parallel here in America is the concept of unlawful enemy combatants - that is the second legal track. And, that has been accepted by the Supreme Court, including for use against US citizens. See the Hamdi decision.

For the other anon who asked where we stand on universal rights: Read our declaration of principles, which is an affirmation of the principles of the Declaration of Independence. Of course we believe in universal human rights - all men are created equal.

We make mention of citizenship in the context of enemy combatant status because there is a constitutional line between using the laws of war on other nations, during wartime, and any attempt to use the laws of war against the American people. Under the Constitution, Congress can declare war on another nation and can thereafter apply the laws of war to the citizens and residents of that nation.

However, Congress cannot declare war on the American people, and cannot legally wage war on the American people, and thus cannot ever apply the laws of war to the American people. That is the clear original intent.

But that original intent has been undermined and subverted by willful judges. Again, read 2004 Hamdi decision, and also the 1942 Ex Parte Quirin decision.

And in particular, read Scalia's dissent in Hamdi to see what the Court should have ruled.

If the Court can just twist the Constitution into whatever it wants, then we have no Constitution, but a legal oligarchy.

What is the answer? Merely waiting to replace them when they die? An amendment? Amendments are hard to pass, for good reasons - you don't want the Constitution to be easily changed. But when the Court can willfully distort the text, including distorting the amendment itself, such amendments are not a sufficient remedy.

We certainly should work within the system, as flawed as it is, but there still must be a limit. Again, anon, I ask you - if the Court gave its rubber stamp to mass murder, or mass internment (as it did in Korematsu) would that make it "constitutional"? Only in the most formalistic way, but that would really be just naked power, and abuse of office, and nothing to do with the actual Constitution.

Or are you one of those people who think the internment of the Japanese Americans was perfectly constitutional? Just because the Court said so?

What about the Dred Scott decision? Good to go in your book?

Or how about Buck v. Bell, where the Supreme Court willfully upheld eugenics laws as being "constitutional" saying "three generations of imbeciles is enough"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_v._Bell

Was that just fine by you? Sure, I expect you will say that no, it is not fine, but the remedy is to wait and appoint better judges and the errors will be corrected.

That is possible, but not guaranteed. There comes a limit to what a nation can absorb from men who willfully wield and abuse power. Sometimes it becomes so bad that it is no longer tolerable.

Taken far enough, the law becomes just whatever the ruler(s) say, and it can become so tyrannical that there is no "normal" within-the-system solution. For example, if Hitler and Mussolini were not militarily defeated, they would have reigned for life and murdered many, many more - just as Stalin did during his unfortunately long life.

"Working within the system" does not always work.

Just to be clear, we Oath Keepers are not calling for violence, or for overthrowing the government, or any such thing. But we are concerned that if this nation were, in the future, to be on the verge of becoming like Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia, that those in the military and police would not just go along with that.

That is all. It is rather puzzling to hear you object to that. Do you really want them to just obey orders if/when an American Hitler comes to power and tries to crush all dissent and resistance?

If you were a German in the late 1930s or early 1940s, would you have told other Germans that it would not be right to refuse orders from the Nazis to persecute, imprison, or murder people? And with the courts all approving? I doubt it. I'll bet even you have a line in the sand somewhere. Or I certainly hope so.

There is a limit to what the judges can decree "legal" and still be worthy of respect or obedience. Where that limit is is open to debate, but if you start at mass genocide, democide, or mass internment, you should be able to accept the concept (that you will not accept as legitimate their decree that such is "constitutional") and from there move back down the ladder to find your line.

One more point, C. C. Baxter:

Everyone who took the oath has an obligation, a duty, to refuse unlawful orders. What that means is that they will have to make their own determination of what is lawful and unlawful. It is an individual burden.

Obviously, they cannot just accept that every order is lawful, no matter how unlawful it seems to them. And it is not enough to just accept the order as lawful because the commander says it is. You, as an individual, have to make a decision.

There is a presumption that an order is lawful, which is necessary for military discipline, but if it is in fact unlawful, there can be no defense in "I was just following orders." So, if a service member thinks an order is in fact unlawful, that service member is not only allowed to refuse to obey, but has a duty to refuse. And if they don't, they can be charged right along with the man giving the order. This can be a bit of a catch 22, putting you at risk of being prosecuted when you refuse an order you think is unlawful, but that burden is upon you whether you like it or not - it is a duty.

So, we Oath Keepers are not just making this stuff up about an individual obligation to determine when something crosses the line - long standing legal precedent and military tradition requires us to make that determination.

Did you ever serve? Were you ever instructed on how to refuse to comply with an unlawful order? We were. And especially after the My Lai Massacre.

There are constitutional provisions for removing judges. That said, yes, as I said before, we have often taken a step backwards. Dred Scott has long been corrected, by further amendments, acts and other decisions, such as Brown v. BofE. So as I said, it works, we eventually get it right.

On that note, how do you think it would have turned out if the civil rights movement answered violence with violence?

Your continual reference to Fascist dictatorial states is not a point I miss, however the history of the shift in power in Europe from monarchy to something else does not reflect our own. There were fascists and communist factions within the United States during the lead up to WWII.

The internment of Japanese Americans was a stain on our history. Of course there were internal problems this caused as well. Who would work the fields? It turned out that Americans were unwilling to spend their vacations on the farm, yes, this was a proposed answer, in the end, it was Mexican labor that harvest the crops of the fields illegally claimed from the interned Japanese Americans. Gosh, that leads to a whole other issue.

My point is that there is no provision in the Constitution for peaceful secession of states. The union is binding and if you see the Declaration of Independence as a document listing human rights, what rights within that document are not protected under the Constitution?

The fact that Jefferson stated that revolution would be necessary does not make that insurrection against a constitutionally legal government without peril. I don't think anyone would suggest revolution against the US by some of its citizens would be considered lawful. Just as the American revolution depended on its success, in order to save the lives of the revolutionaries, any insurrection by citizens of the US would be considered under the Constitution to be traitorous, and the only way it would not be, would be if it was successful.

The Articles of Confederation, which are historically significant and a prelude to our current Constitution mention "perpetual Union" several times, regarding the formation of the United States. Personally, I would expect the writers of the Constitution to include by what means a secession would be possible, as it includes the necessary means for adding states to the union. By what means are the constitutional rights of those in a state which has a majority who wish to secede, if there is such a state, protected after secession is allowed? Funny the Constitution does not address this. Could it be that secession was considered to be a threat to the union? What sort of nation would exist if states were able to enjoin or secede only at their whim? This would allow states to put their own issues above those of the nation. As in the Civil War, citizens of those states who seceded saw themselves as citizens of the state first and the nation second. Those citizens who were against secession, were in effect hostages of a hostile and illegal government. Here I should state that I am residing in one of the former slave states and my ancestors fought on the side of the CSA, for perspective.

Stewart says:
""If you were a German in the late 1930s or early 1940s, would you have told other Germans that it would not be right to refuse orders from the Nazis to persecute, imprison, or murder people? And with the courts all approving? I doubt it. I'll bet even you have a line in the sand somewhere. Or I certainly hope so.""

Nice strawman. Yes, even I have a line. This is not and never has been pre-WWII Germany. Need we go over that bit by bit?

""Where that limit is is open to debate, but if you start at mass genocide, democide, or mass internment, you should be able to accept the concept (that you will not accept as legitimate their decree that such is "constitutional") and from there move back down the ladder to find your line.""

So as you sponsor a site requesting folks to reaffirm their oath to support the Constitution you argue for when it cannot be supported, when you believe citizens are required to take control of the government by force. Fears of Nazis and Soviets running around the country having kangaroo courts seem to have flavored your own personal ideology here. I argue simply that at any point in history, especially the points where civil rights under the Constitution were denied, including on the date of ratification, when the Constitution protected the slave trade, an insurrection could have taken place given your seemingly low threshold of tolerance for the weaknesses and mistakes made by men. Only here, only in the United States has one union, one nation survived throwing off the yoke of tyranny. And survived it again, and again, as those originally denied civil rights were awarded them with our Constitution being the catalyst for every occurrence.

I am here defending the Constitution. What are you arguing for? It seems you are arguing that the document is so weak and prone to fail, you must erect a site to assure those who have sworn to protect it must be prepared to act outside it in order to preserve it. It is quite ironic.

I certainly understand your point. My issues are not about not obeying illegal orders. My main point of contention with Stewart is his reference to "Higher laws" than the US Constitution. Certainly, there is not mention of this in the oath taken and reaffirmed here. Other contentions revolve around issues with what would be unlawful orders as listed on this site, such that secession would be a right of each individual state. While I personally would attempt to support a legal secession, if the Constitution could be observed for those of a state or geographical area who did not want to secede could be protected as to their rights as citizens of the United States. I believe swearing to a contentious issue such as this is not within the basic oath. If secession could be constitutionally sound, meaning amendment, in my opinion, I certainly would withdraw my objection to it.

They sent those people to their deaths trying to start WW3. Don't any of you ever doubt that the US government isn't capable of extreme evil. In the North Atlantic, we sometimes received special encoded messages that diverted us from our normal patrol to fly low and take pictures of Russian fishing trawlers. Every time, we were locked by Russian Navy fire control. Many years later a Soviet officer explained why they never fired on us (why I am still alive). He said that they didn't fall into the CIA trap, because they knew without a doubt that John F Kennedy would not start a war. Kennedy saved our lives from the CIA, but we weren't there when he needed someone to protect him. I left the US in 64 and came back in 77 when I thought the country had changed for the better. I was wrong. The Russians have always recognized Kennedy's message. Here were blinded by the propaganda machine of our government.

When I joined the Army in 1981, I thought for sure that my oath included, to uphold the Constitution and to obey the orders of the "Command and Chief". That being the president. Please correct me if I'm wrong and do post a copy of the oath if you have it so we can all be sure.

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

If the president gives an order that is illegal then a soldier doesn't have to(and shouldn't) follow that order. If he told you to go shoot all of your family members would you do it just because he said to? The way its going Tim you have to worry about it because he'll just order someone else to do it for ya. Get a grip man.

C. C. Baxter, I have read your posts as well as those of Mr. Rhodes, and honestly, I think your understanding of the US Constitution is not historical, is narrowly legalistic, and fails when compared to common sense, obvious principles and the clear explanations of the people who actually created the document.

Just a few quick points: First and most basically, words have meaning. You stress that we need to wait until the Supreme Court rules before we can say whether something is unConstitutional. No. While the Constitution does, in fact, authorize a Supreme Court for various functions, the idea that the Supreme Court and only the Supreme Court is the arbiter of all such decisions is not Constitutional. That is a viewpoint that the Supreme Court decided for themselves; it was never specified. Jefferson, Madison, Mason, etc. all wrote clearly that your view is simply wrong and not even a logical interpretation of contract. Read your history books.

Secondly, speaking of contract law, in order for a contract -- and note that the Constitution is a social contract between the People, the States and the Federal Government -- to be valid, it must be based upon a "meeting of minds," in other words, the parties to it must have a clear and mutual understanding of its terms. For instance the Bill of Rights very clearly and unambiguously says that the Federal Government shall be restricted from certain actions. The language is clear and is at a roughly 11th grade level. Any competent adult can understand it and can understand what it means. Even if the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches all conspire to circumvent the clear and obvious meaning of the contract their actions cannot be legal if their actions go against the meeting of minds that took place when the contract was created. Quite simply that is what a contract is, it is an agreement, and no matter how clever, how sly and how wonderfully skilled at rhetoric our politicians may become, when they over reach the clear meaning of the Constitution, then yes, we the people, whether civilian or military, are completely competent to tell them that they are wrong. After all we are parties to the contract. The same with the State legislatures.

Mr. Baxter, you might be a good person to have next to me if I were on a debating team; you are good at creating convincing sounding arguments and at advancing your viewpoint. On the other hand, you have a tendency to ignore bits and pieces of the evidence, you discount the statements of the people who created the Constitution and you totally dismiss the deeper understanding that occurs when the principles of the founders are incorporated within an interpretation of their words.

No personal insult here, but your interpretation is shallow, is based on a simplistic analysis of the surface meaning of the words and shows no understanding at all of the circumstances and discussion that led to the adoption of the Constitution.

Mr. Rhodes is right. You, on the other hand, need to read more.

Oh, one more thing. No soldier, no citizen has ANY legal obligation to obey any order or any law which is not in fact Constitutional. In fact we have an ethical and social duty to resist such illegalities. Please stop claiming that any sort of insurrection or revolt is being discussed here. It is a lie to say so. Only resistance to lawful orders or lawful legislation can be properly described as insurrection or revolt. Pardon me for being blunt, but you have continually blurred the line between these in your posts. If you honestly cannot tell the difference then, I am sorry, but you are not capable of discussing this subject rationally.

I believe Mr. Baxter is an intentional distraction from the point, just another waste of time…

As for those that think Mr. Rhodes is calling for violence, I do not see where you could even draw that conclusion. Some of us have discussed that refusing orders, even unlawful ones, will potentially leadd to violence, but that is all.

Try this on for size:

The Tea Party

There's a storm a brewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.

O.K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet listens to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington, D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire, just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the tea bag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington, D.C. 20500.

Forward this to everyone in your address book. Visit the web site below for more information about the 'New American Tea Party'. I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, and then just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time and a 42 cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.

Better something than nothing... It would be fun to see the look on their faces when they get them all though.

Great site, glad I found this tonight, it really lifted my spirits big time.

It is so good to know there are more people out there that feel as I do and have real respect for the Constitution.

Thank you for this site I do appreciate it, and I do appreciat the title OATH KEEPERS.

I do want to make a comment however. The Founders plainly stated that enailenable RIGHTS come from God the Creator of all. No man nor government has the authority to try to infringe upon RIGHTS period.

The Constitution was a compact between WE THE PEOPLE and the United States government made through the States to be an 'agent' and servant of the States and WE THE PEOPLE.

The United States consisted of the Congress, two departments which are the Congress and the Senate, the Executive and the Judicial. But that WE THE PEOPLE were the real government and that these government powers were created to protect the RIGHTS of WE THE PEOPLE.

No one branch is more than the other, other than the Congress were to be the part to make the laws. The Supreme Court is not the last and final word, the Constitution is because it is the Law. The Supreme Court is an 'agent' of WE THE PEOPLE also and it was to referee so to speak if the Executive or Congress did not abide by the Constitution or over stepped its boundaries of limited authority. But it is still not the final word for WE THE PEOPLE are actually. The Supreme Court has ursurpted the Constitution in various ways also. But the Executive and Congress has really ursurped the Constitution the worst.

Each State has its own State Constitution as well and it has to abide by its own Constitution as well as the main Constitution, but IF the United States does something un-Constitutional the States do have the right to not obey it. None of the 3 branches of the United States are to infringe upon the RIGHTS of WE THE PEOPLE, yet they all have.

But we have to defend and protect the Constitution at all costs and I have had a great fear that this United States govenment would continue its ursurpations until it got to the point it would push WE THE PEOPLE to rebel and I see this getting closer daily by the foolish and illegal actions occurring.

I am not military, but my husband was Navy, our son is Air Force. My father was Army, one cousin I had was Army and he was injured at Normandy, which later caused his death. I had two uncles that were Army in WWII also so many of my family members served their country well. Some were considered heros and saved many of their fellow militaries lives by their actions.

But it is good to know that there really are others out there who will stand up and speak up and defend the Constitution.

I am with you in this for sure.

The Tea Party is a good idea, it sends a message, but one problem does exit, if you send an actual tea bag it won't go through the mail sorters and they will discard it or throw it away at the PO or in DC. Another idea is to send either a picture of a tea bag or the tab off the end of the string, then the envelope is flat and will go through to the White House. I plan on sending a picture of a tea bag with a message or just saying Remember the Boston Tea Party.

It is the message that is important, not the actual tea bag itself.

Sarge, that was spoken like a true bitch. In case you dont know boy, WE are the TOP of the command. WE THE PEOPLE.

Well-meaning, no doubt. But as previously pointed out, our problem is not with civil government. As a nation, we have rejected God, and THAT'S why all this trouble has come.

Check out "The Achilles Heel of Libertarianism at http://www.rogershermansociety.org/achilles.htm --

This is not to disparage, but to clarify what will be the only effective focus. OF COURSE we should honor our oath to support and defend the Constitution, but no such oath makes any sense in the face of rebellion against the God by Whom we swear.

NEW BAN ON ONCE USED MILITARY CASES FOR CIVILIAN USE

Today a report that has nothing to do with rhetoric, hyperbole or rumor has been confirmed. It is a very disturbing report that points to a very real assault on ammunition supplies. The Department of Defense has issued a directive that bans the sale of military brass to ammunition re-manufacturers. Without that brass, a very large dent is put into civilian ammunition supplies.

New Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) requirements call for the "mutilation of shell casings". Mutilation, incidentally, is the destruction of the property "to the extent that prevents its reuse or reconstruction". Government officials will determine what constitutes "sufficient mutilation" but it's safe to say that it will no longer be suitable for remanufacturing.

All of us need to start contacting our elected representatives -and telling them, quite directly, that we're not going to put up with a move that not only curtails access to ammunition (nearly all .223, 7.62x33 and .308 manufacturing capacity is tied up to satisfy the needs of the military) for civilians - but wastes taxpayers' money turning usable surplus into scrap metal. Reducing the ammo brass to scrap reduces the value of the metal/surplus by nearly eighty percent. It also means that recast brass - in shippable form - may be shipped to China, one of the largest markets for U.S. metals on the world market.

Pulling military brass out of the consumer supply chain means that all the manufacturing capacity being dedicated to meeting the military need will effectively become unavailable to civilians - forever. Export rulings, lead bans, and brass mutilation orders from separate areas of the federal government look coincidental - on the surface. I was not big on conspiracy theories - partially because I doubted the new administration would have gotten its collective act together so rapidly. Seems I've been wrong on that one - and mistakenly using the word "hoard" when talking about the nearly-insatiable demand for ammunition that continues across the country. Today, laying up of ammunition might be better described as prudent preparation for possible problems.

States are beginning to serve notice to the federal government they will not enforce laws that violate individual rights. The federal government seems intent on creating a society with increasingly higher numbers of people dependent on the government for either sustenance or employment. Average citizens are beginning to grow tired of being asked to "tote the note" for others' irresponsibility.

These are, indeed, uncertain times.

Today, it's important that every reader take time to notify Congress that we - taxpayers - oppose this latest DOD move- and all the other not-so-subtle moves against gun owners.

You can contact your elected officials in Washington by going to this webpage http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml and following the links to your respective Senator or Congressman.

One key member of the United States Senate is Montana's Senator Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. Baucus could make a call to the Pentagon and let them know their budgets might be reexamined if they don't reconsider this latest directive. At that point, the directive might labeled a "misunderstanding" and rescinded.

Sample Letter, please fell free to use it.

Dear Senator ---------------. I am an (name your state) taxpayer and I vehemently oppose this latest DOD move that eliminates all surplus military brass from being recycled and available to the civilian population and all the other not-so-subtle moves against gun owners and the Second Amendment to the Constitution. I will expect that you having sworn to protect and uphold the Constitution of the United States will do what ever is necessary to reverse the DOD decision and to protect our Second Amendment rights.

With grave concern but warmest regards,

As a side note to not obeying unconstitutional orders from Obama, please consider the following. Constitutionally clueless constitution “expert” Obama is a culmination of the following. Corrupt "leaders" in all federal government branches have been looking for ways to politically bypass constitutional limits on federal powers and federal spending since the Washington administration. Sadly, widespread constitutional ignorance among citizens, including state government leaders, eventually gave federal power mongers a foothold to usurp state powers, particularly during the administration of Constitution flunky FDR.

The USSC, for example, robbed the states of their power to regulate religion in the following way. Regardless that "former" Klansman Justice Hugo Black argued that Jefferson's "wall of separation" somehow meant that the establishment clause applied to the states as well as to the federal government, Jefferson himself had acknowledged that the Founders had made the 10th A. in part to reserve government power to regulate and cultivate religion uniquely to the states. In fact, he had done so on at least three occasions. See for yourselves.

"3. Resolved that it is true as a general principle and is also expressly declared by one of the amendments to the constitution that ‘the powers not delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people’: and that no power over the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the press being delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, all lawful powers respecting the same did of right remain, & were reserved, to the states or the people..." --Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions, 1798. http://tinyurl.com/oozoo

"In matters of religion, I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the general government. I have therefore undertaken on no occasion to prescribe the religious exercises suited to it; but have left them as the Constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of State or Church authorities acknowledged by the several religious societies." --Thomas Jefferson: 2nd Inaugural Address, 1805. ME 3:378 http://tinyurl.com/jmpm3

"I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises. This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the states the powers not delegated to the United States. Certainly, no power to prescribe any religious exercise or to assume authority in religious discipline has been delegated to the General Government. It must then rest with the states, as far as it can be in any human authority." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Miller, 1808. http://tinyurl.com/nkdu7

So what happened to the 10th Amendment by the time that Justice Black wrote his scandalous interpretation of the establishment clause?

The seeds for the USSC's scandalous ignoring of state powers were sewn when the 14th A. was made. To begin with, John Bingham, the main author of Sec. 1 of the 14th A., had clarified that the amendment was not intended to take away any state powers. See for yourselves.

"The adoption of the proposed amendment will take from the States ***no rights*** (emphasis added) that belong to the States." --John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/2rfc5d

"***No right*** (emphasis added) reserved by the Constitution to the States should be impaired..." --John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/2qglzy

"Do gentlemen say that by so legislating we would strike down the rights of the State? God forbid. I believe our dual system of government essential to our national existance." --John Bingham, Appendix to the Congressional Globe http://tinyurl.com/y3ne4n

The problem with the 14th A. is that anti-state power majority justices were eventually able to take advantage of growing constitutional ignorance and twist Bingham’s clear intentions for the amendment in the following way. Despite the fact that Bingham wrote the 14th A. to apply all constitutional “privileges and immunities” to the states, the Court began arguing that the 14th A. applied the Bill of Rights in its entirety to the states, as opposed to only the privileges and immunities enumerated within the BoR. Doing so gave the corrupt Court a free pass to argue that the 1st A.’s prohibition on federal government power to regulate religion now applies to the states as well. This is evidenced by the following excerpt by Justice Owen Roberts from the Cantwell v. Connecticut opinion.

"The First Amendment declares that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The Fourteenth Amendment has rendered the legislatures of the states as incompetent as Congress to enact such laws. The constitutional inhibition of legislation on the subject of religion has a double aspect." --Mr. Justice Roberts, Cantwell v. State of Connecticut 1940. http://tinyurl.com/38a87c

So the USSC has scandalously rewritten constitutional history where our religious freedoms are concerned by tying and gagging both Jefferson and Bingham, throwing these constitutional experts into the back of a dark basement closet.

Fortunately, it's easier to explain how the corrupt federal Congress has likewise trampled state powers, particularly where the laying of constitutionally unauthorized taxes is concerned. Please consider the following.

The name of the game for constitutionally unauthorized federal spending has been to politically widen the scope of the general welfare cause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 1); this has been going on since the Washington Administration. Again, this practice went into high gear during the Constitution-ignoring FDR administration. And the reasons that FDR era Democrats got away with twisting the general welfare clause is as follows, in my opinion. Not only have the people been asleep at the wheel as a consequence of widespread constitutional ignorance as previously mentioned, but pro-FDR justices ignored a clearly stated case precedent established by Chief Justice Marshall.

More specifically, given that the Founders made the 10th A. to reserve the lion's share of government powers to serve the people to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress, Justice Marshall established the following case precedent which appropriately limits the power of the feds to lay taxes.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Chief Justice Marshall, GIBBONS V. OGDEN (1824) http://supreme.justia.com/us/22/1/case.html

The bottom line is that the Obama administration and Congress are obviously ignoring the Founder’s division of federal and state powers as reflected by Justice Marshall’s case precedent establishing limits on federal taxation. In fact, the stimulus package can be thought of as the federal government returning to the states money that it has stolen from the states anyway.

Finally, the reason that we got into this mess is simple, in my opinion. Likewise seizing advantage of epidemic constitutional ignorance, the Constitution-ignoring MSM has been been facilitating scoundrel federal politicians by turning the limited power Oval Office into a special-interest throne room since the days of FDR. Indeed, it seems that the people’s best response to the Oval Office’s phony powers has been to complain about the way that the “king” spends citizen’s tax dollars as if doing so was their pursuit of happiness.

Does anyone have any more information on this situation???

Who sent soldiers into an Alabama town last week?
Who sent 22 military police and an Army officer into the tiny Alabama town of Samson last week after a gunman went on a rampage that left 11 people dead?
That's what the U.S. Army would like to know.
The Associated Press reports that an Army spokesman says the military has launched an inquiry to find out what happened, why the troops were sent from nearby Fort Rucker, what they did while there and whether any federal laws were broken.
Law enforcement authorities in Samson and the county were stretched to the limit after the killing spree. But, as the AP notes, authorization from the governor or president is typically required for the deployment of federal troops on U.S. soil.
The 131-year-old federal Posse Comitatus Act generally prohibits federal military personnel or federalized National Guard from taking on a domestic law enforcement role.

A friend of mine got this off the US ARMY web site.

The wordings of the current oath of enlistment and oath for commissioned officers are as follows:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

"I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God." (DA Form 71, 1 August 1959, for officers.)

Beware of Wolves in sheep's clothing.....

Seriously now, the most important part to remember here is that now that the establishment feels the real threat of revolution they are attempting to "co-opt" it rather then attack it.

The establishment is a slippery group and so called "noble" pro-Israel hardliners like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and their ilk may be saying they love Ron Paul's message now but underneath it you know that they don't really....as what they would rather do is use it to take down Obama & the liberal Globalists.

There are pluses and minuses to this....One, they know any instant confrontation is doomed to fail so they are trying to make the "New World Order" more appealing, and divide the people against eachother...

Divide and conquer by co-opting...If they can somehow get everyone confused about the constitution, and start hating on homosexuals, Jews, libertarians and gun owners then we will actually end up attacking each-other which will scatter the movement instead of bring down the corrupt Star of David fourth reich...

That's exactly what they want people, don't forget any of this.....If the citizens are united they will lose extremely bad at the end of the day and go to jail, and Bush senior will live in a prison for the decade...

If the citizens are divided, restless and fighting each-other unknowingly then they will win....and we'll all end up being deported or sent to "Camp Happy Land"

God bless you Mr. Rhodes for your patriotic efforts in creating this site, and the Oath Keepers movement. I realized, even as a child the priceless jewel of liberty and freedom that America is, and what a precious gift our founding fathers gave not only America, but all of mankind. I have always loved America, and our constitution, and our liberties and freedoms. As a young man, marching in the July 4th parade, my chest would swell with pride, and chills would run up and down my spine, when the band played Stars and Stripes Forever, and with the passing of the colors. I am 71 years old now - and it is still the same, and will be till I die. I have been deeply involved in the struggle to alert and awaken the American people to the internal (and external) subversive forces which have been hard at work at destroying and radicalizing our God-given Republic. I was a John Bircher in the 60's, where I first learned about these communist and globalist forces, which were then, and have been to the present day, ceaselessly working to destroy our republic, by deceit, subversion and sedition. I knew these days were coming! I knew the plan was to destroy our economy and culture - to drive us into economic collapse and to radicalize and corrupt us from within. And they are succeeding - now at a dizzying pace. It has been painful to watch, and I am angered that my two sons, just starting out in life (23 and 28) will have to bear the terrible burdens of the tyranny which is descending on us all. America is the "Shining City on a Hill" and a beacon of light in a dark world of stateism and tyranny. If we fall, it will usher in a new "Dark Age" of One-World Government, Communist oppression and slavery. And the One-Worlders are even now working to solidify and complete the final phase of their power-grab. They made great strides under the Bush administration, with the illegal immigrant "invasion", the North American Union, etc., and things are accelerating at a frightening pace under the illegitimate Obama administration. If they succeed, there will be no force on earth to stop it - nowhere to go. As these dark events have been unfolding, and as I realized the extent of how completely they have corrupted our government, and our institutions, and our courts, and our educational system, and our media, I prayed for some indication that our last line of defense, our patriotic military and police would be on our side in this final struggle. And I have been saddened at the thought that I, and other patriotic Americans would be forced to resist on our own, or worse, disarmed and imprisoned by these forces. I am an old man now, but will go down fighting if I must, but it has given me new hope to know that our fine military and police have taken an oath to "stand in the breach" to defend our Constitution, and our freedoms, and our Republic. God Bless you all, and God Bless America.

Where were all of you brave "patriots" when Dumbya was trashing your beloved Constitution over the last 8 years? huh?

This whole effort smacks of racism, white supremacism.

You did next to nothing about Bush, likely many of y'all even voted twice for him.

And btw, there are many "911 was an inside job" or "truthers" signing up here. I know this because several of them from another blog were sounding the clarion to come here and join. And there's many a racist and troglodyte among them too. Big surprise. Pathetic.

If only y'all were NOT supremacists and haters. If only... sigh

I am an AFROTC instructor. The ideas expressed on this site are something I make sure all these future officers understand.

Our official oath of commissioning reads:

“….that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…”

The oath we give is to the Constitution; it is not to the Republican Party, it is not to the Democratic Party, it is not to our superiors, our military units, or even the President.

We are to guard the Constitution.

Every officer has the responsibility of viewing their actions and orders in light of the Constitution. It is a very humbling duty. With it comes an innate responsibility to lead with character and to put your service above your own self interests.

Military officers put aside their own liberties, rights, and personal views, willingly sacrificing them for the greater good, and to the service of the nation.

It seems to me that some of our political representatives, whom take the same exact oath as military officers, should put aside their personal views and service to their political party in order to serve the people.

Last time I checked, there was no mention of a political party in the Constitution, but there was a great deal mentioned about serving the “People”.

I too took the oath and plan on standing up for it and even die for it. Love this movement and hope it does not have to end with us.

I do appreciate the sentiment and applaud your Declaration, but I have to ask:
When Bush was detaining a US citizen as an enemy cobatant, and conducting warrantless searches (wiretaps), why were you silent then? Was it because these things were beiung done by Republicans, so therefore, they must have been OK?

After I began typing this, I saw this upthread:

Looks like I'll have to make a dedicated post to address all of these "where were you guys when George Bush was wiping his ass with the Constitution" comments.

Yes, please do, because that's what I want to know.

And if this movemenbt wished to be taken seriously by ALL, and not simply the left-hating rabid right, you also need to denounce and reject idiot unpatriotic lying "birthers" like the piece of shit upthread who refers to the President as "Barry Soetero."
A person referring to Mr. Obama as such in my presence will be picking his teeth up off the floor.
Know that, also, I am free to reject the existence of a God, which I do.
And also know that I am not a mythical creature myself.
I exist.
I am a progressive Democrat.
And I support the Second Amendment and your rights, and mine, to keep and bear arms every bit as much as I support a woman's sovereignity over her own body or the freedom of any adult to enter into legal marriage with any other unmarried adult that will accept their proposal: that being, "unflinchingly." On all three counts.
All that said, I approve of your Declaration in the strongest possible terms, and hope fervently that you mean it to apply to ALL Americans, and not just the Right.

Wow. I had no idea until a friend sent me the oath keepers site. I thought I, along with my friend, was about the only one concerned about where our country was heading. I've always been patriotic and 4 days before the 9-11 attack I had the American flag with the words "Liberty bought with a price" tattooed on my arm. We may have to pay that price again soon.

There are people who want their power back. And they are pushing for a revolution. Violence is not the answer.Violence will split this country and its people. Give obama a chance. It will take time to clean up all the mess were in. We all need to remain calm and choose peace over violence. Start preparing now for the next election by talking to people about Ron Paul. Nothing good will come out of a revolution only misery. We need a man in office who will restore the constitution and give us back our right. Someone who cares about us, not corporate interests. Dont fall into the trap of "Revolution" The first step was getting the "hawks" out of presidency. Educate your friends and family. Dont get violent

The right to bear arms is exactly that, period.
Without the right to bear arms freedom dies.
It is better to die standing and fighting than living on your knees as slaves.

Whoever wrote this (see below) has a slave mentality and will confuse many well intentioned but naive people, people that do not understand the horrible evil that brutish men will wreck on them, the innocents that believe all men are god fearing and champions of freedom for the common man.

“For instance, if the congress renewed the assault weapons ban, the president signed it, and it was challenged in a case before the supreme court, and it was upheld that the government has the right to restrict certain weapons. All that is constitutional, as you know, the constitution gives the supreme court the power to determine whether laws are outside the constitution under article III.”

Anonymous said...

"Nothing good will come out of a revolution only misery."

Scars of the battlefield. It will be no different then what we got where everyone is miserable.

Except for one difference, when we win we can rebuild the government which is total shame.

Any full on revolution can and will only succeed when done in defense, not animosity. Anyone here who supported Bush or the republican socialists knows what a sick mistake that was, and has repented for that in lieu of the comments.

We stand on our principles and always wait for the other side to make a first move, but now that HR 1207 has been sent to Congress, requiring that the Federal Reserve be audited, revolution is inevitable.

next, four reasons given by BuschCo for invading Irag... all proven to be false... yet YOU STILL GO THERE AND KILL PEOPLE. Say what??? excuse me, but when i find out my data is wrong, I correct my actions... you on the other hand... you keep killing. get it yet? a big push is made on this site for the abservance of the oath... well gee gents... when does the killing of innocents stop? I'll give you one... whats being done abroad is bound to come here soon... why? because they get away with it over there.... does KBR or Haliburton ring a bell? Great! Now spread this to ALL law enforcement personnel. If they're ordered to start kicking down doors we are going to have a very scary scenario playing out. I served, I took the oath, and I'd like to think that I've lived my life by it. May God help us through these hard times and may no one dare to violate our civil rights, or "suspend" them to forward an evil agenda. And please, remember one thing: If we start seeing rioting and manifestations for any reason, do not go out there and contribute to looting, vandalism and violent insurrection, for if there's a wanton intent to "change" things by the ppl. that control our law enforcement officers, that is exactly what they want, for us to go out there and loose our cool. Do not go out there and add to the problem.
1) Train-Prepare,
2) Stay Cool,
3) Stay Alert,
4) Stay Alive.

It's this simple: If anyone shoots on me I shoot back, I've got a taser rifle and know how to use it and I know my rights.

But I will not shoot on nor vandalize anyone who does not attack first, or violate my rights. Nobody smart would do that.

I know we live in a Zionist neocon tyrannical police state, but these guys are outnumbered, and they're more scared of us than we of them. If we can wake up the others they will lose and there's no need for mass violence then just a few violent revolutions to bring down the Fed.

"Democracy takes time."

This country isn't a Democracy. In fact, the words democracy, democrat and democratic aren't even in the Constitution. What we are is a Republic, it's the only form of government promised us in the Constitution.

A Republic is a form of government whereby the people elect representatives for the process of governing. Those representatives are accountable to the people that put them there.

A Democracy is a form of government whereby each person has an equal vote, and all must weigh in on each issue. Effectively, it's mob rule.

The two forms of government are vastly different. The fact that EVERY President in my memory has called our process a democracy shows just how little even they know of the Constitution.

To the men here who take this oath, I thank you. I am married to a Nam vet, so I can understand and appreciate what you go and have gone through for our country.

Please know you who are serving are so dear to millions of Americans. The people you will be asked to fire upon or arrest have prayed for you and your families and have wept for you and your families. It's ironic that those who have prayed and wept, donated, sent care packages, and written letters will be your targets for having done these things. I had hoped if this insanity ever came to be, that I would be able to feed and water and house and FIGHT ALONG SIDE any militray person who came to my house. I still intend to do that. I just know I could never turn a single one of you away. If I end up being sent to my Maker by you, so be it. I am not mad, I am just sad. But being sad about how you choose to deal with me, will not lessen the love I feel for you. So if you take me down please know as the life slips out of my eyes I will still look at you with love. You have offered up your lives for your country, and no CEO, Congressman, President, or any 6-figure or double digit profession can compare to the sacrifices you make. If you come to fire on me, I can not and will not raise a gun for it would be like me trying to kill my own flesh and blood. Hundreds of thousands in your boots have died for me, and been wounded for me. Because of them, and you, right now I still have the opportunity to speak freely. THANK YOU! The least I can do for those that have sacrificed for me, is to extend my heart, my love, my home and my hand to all of you. If, in turn you decide to take it all away from me and either lock me up or kill me, I can live, or die with that. The question is, can you? My husband has PTSD from the war. I've seen what it does to one mentally. Knowing how your president is striving to cut your benefits, I hope there will be some type of help for those that are haunted by the constant replaying of killing or handing over the ones who loved them. May God bless you all.

Some, if not most, of the original patriots were neither military nor police, but farmers, merchants and lay-people who believed in the principles of liberty, individualism, and self-defense; members of the colonies willing to lay down their lives in sacrifice for the infant Republic. Do not underestimate, nor rule out, the contributions, past and future, of these "unaffiliated" citizens, these "simple farmers with muskets", I count my great grandfathers among them. As I was born on the forth of July, the stories have been indelibly engrained in my memory. Like still water, support for this cause is deeper and wider than appears on the surface. It is, in fact, the will of the people. You have many "unaffiliated" supporters, don't start the revolution without us.

To those who point out your 'research' into the 9/11 'truth,' all these have been answered in depth using fact, science, timelines, etc., in many sources; none of these refutations by people like, say, building engineers (who might possibly know more than the Loose Change tards) have been answered by any 'truther' with anything other than accusations of being part of the deception. I grew up in rural Idaho, hunting all manner of birds, deer, elk, bear, trapping muskrats and foxes, drinking sloe gin while skipping school, trying to get laid, and listening to Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen sing about an America I was melded with. I joined the USMC out of high school, and later worked my way through college and law school. I served a number of years working for private clients, and then served a number of years as a prosecutor for the State of Idaho.
I’ve sworn to protect and defend the United States Constitution on multiple occasions. Beyond the first time, each time was cumulative, because the first one took very strongly. I value every one, but I follow the very first one, the same as the last one.
I later discovered that my ancestors were strongly tied with the Nez Perce nation. I am told, but have yet to document it, that my great, great, great grandmother was Chief Joseph’s daughter. Some in my family consider this scandalous. I, personally, can think of no greater honor.
This is my nation. This is my land. This is my people. Not the government I speak for when I step into a courtroom, but the very people themselves, who infuse my blood and my spirit with pride. The folks I put in jail because they have strayed from the statutory birds’ nest we have created with our lobbyist-controlled legislatures, people who are sometimes good and honorable of heart, people who love this land and people as I do, are not our real enemy. Our real enemy is apathy, acquiescence, submission.
Your website injected into me an incalculable measure of pride, one I have struggled to find in my mundane, work-a-day world. Your website swelled my heart. I need to know that you, my police, my military, will not fire upon me when I stand in the street and say “NO! You will not take my heritage from me!” If you do fire upon me, know that I will fire back. I will fight to the death, and my children will know why, before I must engage.
I stand with you.

The Constitution does not establish the supreme court as to determine if law is constitutional. Justice Marshal declared it so, not the Constitution, which means it is a convention of government itself to look out for government. The oath was established so that each individual who took the oath would operate by it and to act as a check and balance in case the other branch fell short. The three branches operate like this: the congress passes a law, the executive branch enforces it and the judicial branch interprets it. If the executive branch does not act as a check and balance on the law by not enforcing it as to honor their oath, then the judicial branch will ultimately check it by dismissing it. Read carefully article 3.

Stewart, you either don't get it or you are with them. You delete my comments, yet allow the antisemitic truther rants to keep flowing, without deleting them.

Again: Your movement, with all its good intentions, will be a laughingstock at best; pointed out as a racist and antisemitic example of how unhinged the Constitutional movement is (I don't believe that; but that is what they will point out).

Cest la vis. Remember Ruby Ridge and Waco, folks. Not the just acts themselves, but the media bias in reporting those events.

Baboy, I deleted anon's "truther" comment right along with yours, in fact, at exactly the same time, - apparently you just did not bother to notice that. And then I just deleted another one that I take to be aimed at you.

I don't have time to screen all comments, and thus I said I would remove only blatantly racist comments. But, since you and your opponents insist on carrying on, I will delete you BOTH from now on. Now you will probably yell at me for not going back and removing every single reference to 9-11 and take that as some "sign."

I have better things to do. Don't you? You seem to be on a one man mission to vet all Oath Keeepers and purge our ranks of any suspected "truthers."

Thanks, but no thanks. I think we'll do fine without your help. In fact, ironically, most of the truther comments here are in response to you.

You said: "Cest la vis."

I hope you mean it.

Anon, thank you. Apology accepted.

Stewart Rhodes said...

"Remember Ruby Ridge and Waco, folks. Not the just acts themselves, but the media bias in reporting those events."

That's right. Except that the media tainted the Davidians as being white racists when at least half of them were black, hispanic, or asian, and with many mixed marriages. They were truly a multi-cultural, racially diverse commune. You'd think the left media would have loved them. Except that they were gun owning Christians. That was their big sin in the eyes of the media.

And to this day the average American thinks the Davidians were a group of white people, when the truth is that they were predominantly non-white. That's how effective the media smear campaign was.

Now, at least at Ruby Ridge Randy Weaver actually was a white separatist -not that it made it OK to shoot his son or his wife - or to try to frame him for a killing he did not commit. And that is why Gerry Spence defended him. Despite finding Weaver's beliefs about race abhorrent, Spence made sure Weaver was not railroaded by a government out of control.

When it comes to Oath Keepers, racists will be deleted and banned as soon as they reveal themselves. They are collectivists of the worst stripe, judging people not as individuals but as entire groups, and they are not welcome here. When I see blatantly racist comments they will be deleted.

But I will make that determination, not Baboy.

Baboy, this ain't my first rodeo. Now stop rearranging the deck chairs and start rowing so we can avoid that big ass iceberg of a totalitarian nightmare we are on a collision course with.

Or go somewhere else to yell at people.

Stewart, the post to which I was referring that has still not been deleted is the one by an anon poster also calling himself 'Zionist Haters United.' Perhaps you just missed that one; I hope that is the case.

As to the Davidian and Ruby Ridge episodes, you're spot on. A former girlfriend was working in the ER at one of the DFW area children's hospitals the morning of the fire and she personally answered the phone and was told "There is movement in Waco, we need to know about bed availability." I remember watching that fire and making a comment about not trusting a thing the .gov was saying, when a coworker said in all doe-eyed seriousness, "You should trust your government." The same government that claimed there was a meth lab there so they could legally skirt the Posse Comitatus Act.

I will always fear my government, as they obviously have forgotten that in a Republic, it is intended that this be the other way around.

Zionism is a hate group baboy. Everyone knows that. Maybe if there's something I dont like, I can cry about it and the administrator will hurry up and take it out too ? besides, I dont see anything racist in the comment you mentioned. Why should the owner of this site bow down to you? Go some where else like you were told

First sign of not having real facts to bolster one's argument is using the 'everyone knows that' line. Everyone knows Al Gore's movie is true, right? I mean, he won a Nobel!
Zionism is not hate, it is self determination; and anti-zionism is anti-semiticism . How 'bout you learn something prior to operating your meatflaps?

What a great site!! Its nice to know theres so many people thinking the same way I do. Its also nice to see that no one fell into the "remember the waco" statement trap. That statement is designed to get a angry response and show this site and some members as violent/extremists. Clearly, the poster has an agenda. I guess the "Moles" are everywhere these days. Anyways, I'll recommend this site to everyone I know. I wish you much luck and will gladly donate a few dollars to help out with the costs.God bless you....Seth

baboy said...

My 'remember waco' post was not a trap, had no agenda, and I am not a "Mole" (sic). It stands as an example of government run amok, getting away with killing citizens based on lies and media duplicity in covering up what happened simply because the media, like Clinton's government, didn't like religious people with guns.

As to "tell that to the palestinians, dude," there is no such thing as an ethnicity or nation called Palestine. Never has been. Those living in Israel who self identify as such send rockets into civilian areas in Israel on a daily basis, firing from civilian areas, and when they get smacked down they go ape and claim they are being slaughtered. Yeah, ok, whatever.

And anti-zionism is antisemitism; if you have evidence to the contrary, I suppose you would have presented it instead of simply being argumentative for argument's sake. As to your 'and we all know who' remark, I must presume that means 'Jews.' Since I'm saying it, and am not Jewish, that kinda leaves you playing all by yourself with your little strawman, does it not?

Alan said...

baboy,

This site isn't for your childish rants. No one wants or gives a shit about what you have to say. You are a mole, just like the earlier poster said. Its obvious you sit around your computer waiting for someone to comment on something you dont like so you can pounce. Dont you have anything better to do then harass and stalk the members here? It seems to me that your attacking anything anyone says about Zionism, jews, 9/11, Palestinians etc. I wonder why? I wonder who you work for? This site is about PATRIOTS and their OATH. We dont need the Zionist thought police trying to push their agenda. Add something constructive or piss off mate

I would like to know if anyone has an answer to my question. Does the government have the authority to place martial law on an Indian reservation? I am asking this because I still have 5 kids on one. I have been uneasy with this since I first heard of the Martial law plan. It would be so easy to fence in Native Americans that reside on a rez. I have never got a plan for them. Also I asked this question of a relative who has inside info on some things and I was told I dont want to tell you. If some one knows please tell me as I have kids and grand kids to worry about.

Do you take in women who have sworn an oath? I have a sister who swore an oath and I told her about oathkeepers and she was interested. Also do you have a join up of some kind for people who havent made an oath but want to stand behind the military?

It's great to finally see that the people are starting to wake up, The Oath keepers are very much needed everywhere and I will be posting some ideas on how we can fight back very shortly using legal means to stop further and future fees, how to stop seat belt citations by using the law to force them to leave us alone. I was USMC 1983-1993

I took the Oath twice. I was an idealistic youth the first time, but I meant it. I was an NCO with my eyes wide open the second time. And I still meant it.

I had already been to over twenty foreign countries. I had already been forced to serve under the UN. I no longer had any delusions that we were "the good guys".

For those trolls who have posted that there is nothing fascistic, nothing wrong with the way our military and police are thinking... watch this. This was during Bush... nothing to do with His Holiness The Barry- who is a bigger Anti-Constitutionalist than Bush or Dick.

I love my country, and I will no longer be pushed. If we are pushed any further, there is no reason to go on. I will not live as a slave. I will not watch UN troops come here and act as I saw them act in other countries. I will no longer stand for the bullying tactics of Law Enforcement, and if the military moves against the civilian populace- may God have mercy upon them, for I will not.

Guardians of the Republic, we salute you.
Didn't have time to read all the comments, but the anonymous commenter at *March 15, 2009 2:13 AM* pissed me off somethin terrible.
Just to clear this up for anyone who sadly does not understand.
First of all, the Declaration of Independence (the Unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America) is the first document in American law.
Dr. Edwin Veiera, an expert in Constitutional law, explains:
[T]he source of LEGAL AUTHORITY for the Constitution of the United States — as well as for the constitutions of every state — is THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, and...the Declaration sets rigid standards for the exercise of governmental powers precisely in order to secure individual rights. ... Legal authority cannot arise out of nothing. True, as [the Preamble to the Constitution] attests, "We the People...do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." So the immediate source of the Constitution's authority is "the People." But from what anterior reservoir of legitimacy do "the People" derive their authority? Can just any group of men claim to be a law unto themselves - or be taken seriously if they do? The answer to these queries is to be found in the Declaration of Independence. Neither the U.S. Constitution, nor any state constitution, can possibly enjoy any legal authority whatsoever unless the independence of "We the People" in the American Colonies became legally effective prior to the ratifications of those charters of government.
_____________________
As to why there is a considerable amount of emphasis on the Second Article of the Bill of Rights (aka the Second Amendment) in regards to resisting tyranny -- within the military and law enforcement as well as the citizenry -- Dr. Veiera explains this as well:
[O]ne cannot have a "right" without a remedy to rectify violations of it, or a "duty" that obliges one to take action without any means to fulfill it. So "the good People" must be possessed at all times of an instrument for collective self-defense with which to protect themselves. For "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends" it may prove to be too late to attempt to create such a force, inasmuch as the patriots trying to do so will become the first targets of the usurpers' and tyrants' police-state apparatus. Thus, the Second Amendment: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." And if "We the People" — "the good People" — have a "right ... to keep and bear Arms" and a duty to employ those "Arms" in "well regulated Militia" for the purpose of "throw[ing] off" usurpers and tyrants who threaten "the security of a free State" in America, then no usurpers or tyrants can assert any legal claim whatsoever to oppose the people. Indeed, such opposition is itself a further act of usurpation and tyranny, and an obstruction of justice.

As for the rest of it, you sure as hell don't have the first clue what you're talking about or what it means to be an American.

I would love to see them come and try to take our guns. I have a bad feeling that's why they're having foreign troops training on American soil and why our Government agreed to this at the UN. I know that its going to get harder to purchase firearms, but I also Know that its very easy to make your own. For the cost of a few very good guns ,one could acquire the materials to continuously make their own. Theres plenty of books that give you step by step instructions from experts in the dying field of gun making. There is also great videos that make it a no-brainer. Its amazing what you can do with a cheap lathe, a few blueprints and some "stock" metal. I dont think most people understand how simple the process is or how few parts (once assembled), the type of weapon they'll have. 48-72 hours and you have the type of weapon that puts fear in any person, no matter their "protection". No criminal history check, no being on any list, no nothing. Hell, I can run down to the community college skill center and have a student in the metal work section run out the parts in a couple hours for 50$. Still, for a very small investment you can have the joy of knowing you made your own. food for thought people

Unfortunately, it seems that the time has arrived for those that would be free and not slaves, to stand once more, and risk all that they hold dear in the defense of Liberty. This we MUST do! We must risk everything, for if we do not, all will most assuredly be TAKEN from us. We must know our enemy, for they are here, amongst us. Listen not to their empty promises. Reject their false labels. Resist the unwelcome intrusions into our lives, our homes, our hearts. Know them instead by their actions and intents. Trust yourselves to know the truth of what you see, think and feel. For when the time comes, it is this knowledge that will prevent the ruin of this nation. In this, we can succeed. In this, we must succeed, for in failure there is only enslavement. I stand ready to risk my life, my fortune, my sacred honor in the defense of Liberty. I ask simply, my countrymen, DO YOU?

I saw this on the We Surround Them USA.ning.com site..kudos to the military for the "classiest smackdown" of an obviously unappreciative civilian
Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were. A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall.

When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit.

THE COMPLAINT:
'Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base:

Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyn's early bird special?

Any response would be appreciated.

THE RESPONSE:
Regarding 'A wake-up call from Luke's jets' On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m., a perfectly timed four-ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.

At 9 a. m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured.

A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, 'Whom do we thank for the morning air show? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.

The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of open conflict in the American Revolution.

2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects - such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the use of warrantless searches known as “writs of assistance” and the first fiery embers of American resistance were born in opposition to those infamous writs. The Founders considered all warrantless searches to be unreasonable and egregious. It was to prevent a repeat of such violations of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects that the Fourth Amendment was written.

We expect that warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.

3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.

Oppressive governments often use the internment of women and children to break the will of the men fighting for their liberty – as was done to the Boars, to the Jewish resisters in the Warsaw Ghetto, to the Cossacks, and to the Chechens, for example.

Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used. We will not commit treason, nor will we facilitate or support it.

10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

Epic Wuss Obama Tucks Tail, Eats Vomit then Approves of Iranian Nuclear Program
by Mathias at 10:12 am
After a magnificent weekend here in God’s Chosen Land, America, we’re back. Behold this, this stinker:

“North Korea broke the rules, once again, by testing a rocket that could be used for long-range missiles,” Obama said in Prague. “This provocation underscores the need for action, not just this afternoon in the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons.”

That’s right, Obama called North Korea’s actions “provocative” as if this is some sort of paper he may have written in his Freshman film class at whatever made up community college provided him with the template for his fake diploma. Obama, the fool-clown, is going to whisper quietly with Japan and South Korea about how rude NoKo is but no one is strong enough to tell NoKo that talking during the movie is rude, because he has a big boyfriend named China, to whom we owe money.
Seriously, though. Guys. We’re deferring to the UN for everything. I miss the good old days when America was, you know, a sovereign nation.
The President with No Moral Compass continues his all-out assault on American ideals by literally supporting the Iranian nuclear program, which is collaborating with the North Koreans on plans to blow us all up. More things the Iranians and North Koreans share? They’re both holding US citizens hostage and Obama is too terrified to do anything. This President is selling us out to the highest, craziest bidder.
With all these rogue states aspiring and plotting to arm themselves with nuclear weapons you’d think Obama might at least consider practices that were successful in the Cold War. Strangely and horrifyingly, if you thought that’d, you’d be hilariously wrong. Because Obama wants to throw away all of our nuclear weapons, into the sun or under Yucca Mountain or something, I assume.

Obama pledged on Sunday to cut the U.S. nuclear arsenal, to bring the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty into force and to seek tough penalties for those that broke rules on non-proliferation.

Obama go t fall-down drunk on his own Change Power during his election campaign and while he was swooping in for the kiss with Iran, Iran side-dodged it. Now, he’s trying to get in good with Iran’s BFF, NoKo. I think this also describes a spice girls song? Obama is probably the biggest loser in American history.
The other friend of Iran that Obama’s flirting with is the Palestinians. What an ass.

U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday the United States strongly supported the aim of setting up a Palestinian state living “side by side” and at peace with Israel.

Ugh, this Obama, this cartoon of a President, is making me sick. I have thrown up three times simply writing this sentence.

GOD BLESS THE PALESTINIANS. AND SCREW YOU ANONYMOUS. (above this post). Israel is the problem. you have had to much kool aid. I have to much respect for this site to say what I think, but I will say I hope Iran moves even faster it its "peaceful" nuclear work and stays real good friends with Hezbollah,PLO etc.., if you get my drift. Israel is a stain on the fabric of all society that must (and will) be cleansed. If this Republic is to remain a Republic, then that illegal immoral state must be dealt with.

I'd been wondering for several years now if there were others who interpreted the Oath as I did....guess I have my answer. Took the Oath in 1990, ETSd in 2001, but there's no expiration date expressed or implied, thus I hold myself forever bound to it. When the bugle sounds, this trooper will come a-running!

Atten James,I am the son of a us army service man who gave 22 yrs of his life in serv of this country. That said I served in the army at home cause it was not easy for dad to forget who he was.
I am happy that you ll pronounce your blackness,
as you should never be ashamed of who you are or where you come from.
President Obama swore an oath, which by many actions he has desiccated !
Upon his actions, whether black, white, pink with purple polkadots he wears the uniform of a domestic enemy.
I can understand Obama's position Billary said To him "They will kill you" so he is on a string, not pulling them.
That said, he still took an oath to defend the constitution, not abolish it.
Whether he is a direct participant, or an accessory after the fact, he is still guilty of treason.
Now not just obama but all men who have vowed to defend our nation yet fail to uphold it by taking our liberties should be hanged from the highest building for all to see!
As a us citizen one of my biggest concerns is How are our police and Mil going to react when given that order?
And from what I see many will say hey I want to see his little girl free, and that is a major relief.
I am a no good honkey white trash piece of crap but does that bother me Nope not in the least and the reason that is
Is because men and women, Fathers Mothers Sons and Daughters Died to allow people to think that of me, but when I stop at 3 am on a side rd and fix someones tire, offer them a ride or use of my Phone, those people hold a higher opinion of me, and those are the opinions I believe.
The bottom line is this,You are who you are in your own mind.
Here is a truth you can find through out history or if you have served,
Examine in your mind,
United we stand , divided we fall
Divide and conquer!
You believe for one second that the enemy is not aware to defeat us he must keep us at odds
Well then your truly uniformed.

HEY OATH KEEPERS

I HAVE READ A BUNCH OF POSTS FROM PEOPLE SAYING THEY WERE NEVER MILITARY OR POLICE. SO THEY NEVER TOOK THE OATH, I DONT REMEMBER BEING MILITARY OR BEING A POLICE OFFICER A REQUIRMENT TO SWEAR AN OATH TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION.

SO, WHY DONT YOU MAKE A SEPRATE THREAD, WITH THE ACTUAL OATH WRITTEN IN THE HEADER, ALLOW OTHERS TO RAISE THEIR RIGHT HAND AND PLEDGE THEIR LIVES AND THEIR FORTUNES AS HAVE ALL OF US, AND RESITE THE OATH AND THEN THEY TOO CAN BE OATH TAKERS.

OR EVEN BETTER WHY NOT MAKE A VIDEO CLIP OF SOMEONE QUALIFIED TO GIVE THE OATH ASKING THEM TO REPEAT AFTER ME..... AND THEY CAN TAKE THE OATH ORALLY ALSO ?

THEN THEY CAN LEAVE A COMMENT SAYING THEY TOO TOOK THE OATH AND INTEND TO KEEP IT. ??

Recently, an ex KGB propaganda agent who had defected, spoke at a well known college. He spoke about the methods that he and other agents used to overthrow entire governments. He said that they used a 4 step process to turn 3 countries from free countries into closed communist countries. Those 4 steps were:
1 Demoralize
2: Destabilize
3: Cause Rebellion
4: Take Over

So, the idea was that the communist would pump in their propaganda. In other words, they would relentlessly pump in the message that they wanted "The People" to accept. then second they would introduce relatively mild unrest and dissatisfaction amongst the people through that message. In other words, they would cause them to become dissatisfied with the status quo. Third, they would then be able to excite the people to flagrant rebellion. Finally they would be able to move in and take over complete control of the Government and the people themselves. Strange that the first step would take at least 20 years. The propaganda(message) is against the morals of the people ,but eventually the people, having being exposed for so long, soon dont even notice, they are no longer shocked or see any danger as the change is so slow and subtle. This is exactly what has happened here in the U.S.A.

Are you waiting for the moral to the story? Just sit back and think about it for a minute

I saw your group mentioned today on Alex Jone's website. After going through the site, I had both a smile and a tear on my face. My 16yo son sat in silence. I could see in his face what I felt. Thank you for your efforts. I stand here today with my son to affirm that we shall defend the Constitution of the United States and abide by all provisions therein. Our lives begin to end when we become silent about things that matter. I would rather die "early" doing what I knew to be right than to eek out a few more illusory years as a slave to a tyranny. Thank you again.

I have faith and fully support the oath keepers, those who will stand by their oath to protect Our Constitution. I'm glad I found this web site. I know our military, if standing by the sacred oath, may be our best hope for the future. Traitors have infiltrated the highest levels of our government, our intelligence, and even our military communities. The traitors may beguile their peers, but they can not implement what they desire without the acquiescent actions of those who truly serve, armed and on the front lines. Know your enemies, and keep up the good work.

Hello, Oath-Keepers,

All the best to you, Mr. Rhodes, and to your much-needed organization. I heard your interview on the Alex Jones show, and you strike me as a sincere individual. I love the idea of American citizens taking the oath on the sacred ground where the Revolution began in 1775. I wish I could be there.

I've read a lot of comments on this thread critical of the overweening (and royalist) pretensions of the executive branch, particularly in the current and previous administrations. Let's not forget the legislature; these sell-outs (on both sides of the aisle) have forsaken their responsibility as a check on the executive. I'm sure I don't have to remind you all that as originally intended, the Founders wanted the rights of the executive to be derived from the people (with the one exception of the pardon power). In a way, it is their shameful cowardice and calumny that has put all in the military and law enforcement in such a compromised position.

As you said in your interview, Mr. Rhodes, all peace officers and military need to know where they stand on these tough issues so that if a calamity (as in the recent case of Katrina/Rita) does take place and Oath-Keepers are confronted with an unlawful order, they will "be prepared" and remain steadfast.

We will defeat these bastards... best to you all in the coming fight.

You have to stop this. I mean it. All orders that promote the safety and well-being of the public must be obeyed, regardless of any alleged constitutional issues. Alas, people in authority often act, not in conformance to legal niceties, but to carry out their duties in the most effective and efficient manner possible. The Constitution is just a piece of paper. Terror, pandemics, economic collapse are real phenomena requiring rapid and decisive political action. That means authoritative action! That's right! Forget about any Founding Fathers. Join the 21st Century and save your country!

We have a proud tradition in our family of serving in the military; from WWI when we were Irish immigrants to Desert Storm with my own son. The increasing use of our military as heavily-armed police officers to line the pockets of profiteers on our children's dead bodies disturbs me greatly. I wish you well, Oath Keepers, from the bottom of my heart - but I fear for you as I did my own father, husband and son. There will be conflict - more bloody and more vicious than many realize. When lawbreakers are more heavily armed and more protected than our own police and sometimes even our own military - with the collective and tacit approval of our Congress and Presidency, it is apparent that they will call upon the military to quash any civilians who do not kowtow to them, who do not turn over their weapons and be led as sheep to slaughter. God Bless any who take the Oath to uphold our Constitution against ALL betrayers, foreign and DOMESTIC.

At first blush this appears to be a request to "forget the Constitution", which of course we will Never do, BUT on closer examination it begins to look like a quote copied and pasted from some sort of manual or handbook.
Does anybody recognize it ?
I am reminded that one of the "Rules" of war according to Sun Tzu is to Know and Keep your Enemies close at hand where you can keep watch on them closely.
Meanwhile IF it is a request to forget the Constitution then to the person MG all I can say is that it will not happen "Not on Our Watch".
That Constitution is the instrument that created our government and listed its limitations which, of course, is WHY you hope to get us to forget it. Sorry that's not going to happen, "Not on Our Watch".
Now, begone insect go peddle your cowardice someplace else.

Keep at it. It seems to get easier with time.
Do be aware that there seems to be a tendency for nutcases and "wingnuts" to show up out of nowhere spouting pure rubbish. The trick is to "Do Not Feed the Troll." or in plain speak don't answer them. Let them "die on the vine."
You said:

You never have been "alone" my friend in this country at any rate. There have been Veterans standing ready to defend the people of America since the creation of the country itself.
[Prior to the creation they would have been veterans of the Indian wars and known as Minute Men".]
You said:
"I will stand with you,my brothers & sisters, for the freedom which is so neccessary to the life of this great nation. "
And we welcome you to stand with us most warmly.
IF you are interested there are apparently going to be numerous Oath Keepers gathering at several places around the country on April 15 [Tax day Tea Parties] and on April 19th. [the anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775] SOME of these gatherings will be offering Oath swearing ceremonies for those who feel that they are ready to commit themselves to supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States from all enemies both foreign and domestic.
Another option, especially If you are a student of history, is to attend an Appleseed Shoot and learn the True story and Heritage of April 19th and of our founding fathers from the Revolutionary War Veterans Association.

Whatever you chose to do Please do celebrate our courageous founding fathers and all of the veterans from them down to and including our currently serving members of the Military and our Peace Officers of good heart on the 19th of April. [You might research April 19th, 1775 which is the reason for our celebration.]

Welcome aboard.
